That’s convinced me 4chan has irreparably fallen and it’s just faggots all the way down now.An interesting trend is developing on /pol/. They're calling it dignifAI. I'm very curious to see if it will go anywhere. So far there aren't actually any good reactions, but on the other hand this is the type of thing that can explode like a powder keg if enough outrage lights the fuse.
Basically using AI to clothe scantily clad women.

I've seen this before. I knew I was going to be visiting that shell of a website even less now when I saw it.View attachment 5687823

I am currently counting down the days until they block all desuarchive domains after people start bringing up how opening the thread on there reveals dozens of nuked posts at specific times of dayIt feels like there's more janitors than ever in 4chan's history. If you use any general thread, it's very common now for all of them to have a janitor who just sits in there 24/7 and uses it all day (and, of course, delete whatever they personally dislike)

I'm not parroting anything I specifically remember reading posts from moot in a /qa/ thread years ago that 4chan either just broke even or lost money for the first 8 years or so it was online. Maybe in the years right before Moot left it got profitable but I don't remember anything about it being "extremely profitable". I have no idea where you are getting that information from.People who parrot this "4chan was unprofitable" thing get all their info from YouTube videos by nasally essayists. Back in reality 4chan was extremely profitable. Just the pass sales leaked from the Heartbleed hack were easily enough to make a healthy profit - 4chan serves mostly text and thumbnails. Miserly japanese toy company executives paid a shitton of money for the site, so obviously it was generating lots of ad clicks.
Wasn't jlist basically the only company left that was okay with advertising on 4chan towards the end of moots reign?I'm not parroting anything I specifically remember reading posts from moot in a /qa/ thread years ago that 4chan either just broke even or lost money for the first 8 years or so it was online. From what I remember yes. No one else would even touch 4chan because of its reputation. So 4chan's income was an anime porn site and 4chan passes which you pay 10 bucks for one and then have it forever. Extremely profitable my fucking ass.Wasn't jlist basically the only company left that was okay with advertising on 4chan towards the end of moots reign?
When was it changed to USD$20 every year?4chan passes which you pay 10 bucks for one and then have it forever
It's always been 20 dollars a year. I was misremembering it. I wonder what percentage of the user base actually has paid for one I can't imagine it's more than like 5% of the userbase. When was it changed to USD$20 every year?
Since you needed crypto for it, I imagine a lot of the early users bought $50 bucks of bitcoin a decade ago and then it turned the leftover $30 into ridiculous amounts. It's always been 20 dollars a year. I used to pay for it, but then they switched to crypto and I couldn't be assed.Since you needed crypto for it, I imagine a lot of the early users bought $50 bucks of bitcoin a decade ago and then it turned the leftover $30 into ridiculous amounts.
moot claimed, in the final Q&A stream, that the site barely made money.I'm not parroting anything I specifically remember reading posts from moot in a /qa/ thread years ago that 4chan either just broke even or lost money for the first 8 years or so it was online. I mean, it was a gigantic surge in traffic as a result of The Fappening. Funny thing is, we have lost money on that because our hosting costs went up and, you know, we barely make money and people didn't really purchase more ads and so we didn't benefit from all that traffic.
Thank for finding the original source! I guess I mixed it up with one of the many Q&A's he did on /qa/.moot claimed, in the final Q&A stream, that the site barely made money.
