I can't recall last time I participated in one of those lame April Fools events. Must have been either the board merging one from 2017(the one that gave us /mlpol/) or the ChatGPT one.
This one is just stupid, but then again we're talking about the post 15 minute countdown captcha era of 4chan so it goes without saying.

I don't want a influx of /v/ retards on the smaller vidya boards
This, right now the boards that move fast anyways are the ones being spammed with off-topic posts, and they'll recover in like two hours tops when the event is over. If this was happening on the slow boards instead, it would hit some of them pretty hard, and a catalog wipe on a board as slow as /po/ would permanently scar the board, it would never recover and might as well be deleted at that point.

It's not like changing which board is housing the rapefugees would actually change the content, it'd be the same jumble of random noise no matter what the URL said.

Lol found this in a pol thread about this "prank"

Holy shit it's actually gone I was just on there a few minutes ago

I do wonder what the parameters for closing the board at the rate they're doing are. If it was starting at the board with the least traffic before eating the big ones, I think the joke lands for me.

I dunno, /a/ is still up, but from memory /pol/ was in the top 5 with /v/, /vg/ and maybe /b/? /sp/ also got culled early , even tho it's one of the msot active too.

To be fair i haven't checked activity numbers in many years, so i might just be waaaay off

Whatever janny protects the vtrooners woke up because suddenly one of them remembered GR15 exists on /v/, hope they realize that adding /pol/ back in will just make it even harder to stop than ever before just like last time.

EDIT: So, it seems that this is the laziest lockdown possible. You can still access existing threads on boards that are down if you know the URL, they only blocked out the main page and catalog on every board that is closed.

While you can access existing threads. You can't post new replies.

Pretty weak April fools this year. A better idea would have been to hire some proper jannies who are not total faggots and trannies, so the website can be a bit better for a day.

Holy fuck you motherfuckers are jaded as shit that you can't see the positives of this.
1) lumping together the entire site into one board leads to complete chaos, which means great content as shitflinging between different board posters ensues
2) this also means that jannies now have to work overtime to sweep up child porn and other retardation so in their attempt to be funny, they actually succeeded on all fronts :story:

If the same concept happened on KF you'd be ecstatic with the chaos it would cause when lolcow board posters, BP posters, OT posters and AT posters were slowly getting forced to coexist under one board for a day.

is there any explaination why posting has been slowing dying for the last 5 years?
The old guard of the soysphere who actually were funny and made OC have moved on and all that’s left is a cargo cult of brown teenagers.

Edit: Oh shit I thought I was on the sharty thread but my post also applies PERFECTLY to 4chan 100%. Just replace soysphere with 4chansphere or whatever
