yeah, at this point I think it might be optimistic to see it even returning to full service, let alone getting any better. the jannies will just return more unemployed than ever, fully coping trying to silence any ridicule of this obviously massive and inexcusable fuck-up that has managed to take the site down for going on over 12 hours now.

It'll probably back eventually, but a good chunk of the already dwindling organic users will be gone for good after this. The refugees have realized most forums and even painfully slow altchans are still preferrable to the state of the site pre-hack and God knows whatever the conditions will be when it's back. Honestly, /vg/ feels like the internet equivalent of a poorly run mental asylum. I can't think of too many sites I've been to with such a high amount of unchecked schizophrenia. The funny (and slightly sad) part is that, for a lot of games, the generals on /vg/ are still better for discussion than Reddit, even with all the schizophrenics on the loose.

Shot in the dark, but were any of the refugees here around in the /vn/ general on /vg/? A couple years ago there was a bot that made the thread unusable by spamming nonsense posts replying to other posts. The bot could even get baited into spamming Visual Novel threads on /v/ somehow. I always wondered what the story behind that was, I know it got banned eventually. Searched this thread and didn't see any mention of it.
