A phoneposter seriously trying to claim 4chan is dying because zoomers can't into a PC?
As bussin' as new memes sound phone posters, on god, seriously shit up the website - no cap with their low effort posts and lower effort ban evasions frfr.
I don't post on 4chan at all. The site has been a bot filled piece of shit for nearly a decade with idiotically low file limits and restrictions like no sound on videos except in wsg or gif. The userbase has just grown so accustom to it being a shit hole they've adopted regressive attitudes towards improvements like adding in webp support or support for new encoders. The admins have been phoning it in for over a decade and rightfully are getting fucked for it.

8chan.moe seem to be the big victor of this and where most traffic is going

The problem is that there is no mechanism nor person in place to lift it out of the grave in any meaningful state. The site needs someone who isn't Hiro that is both enterprising/passionate/altruistic enough to devote their time and money to make it usable and to rid it of all the problems that led to this in the first place.
The main admin is MIA, the jannies are all gum-toothed retards who can't be bothered to register with a non-identifying email, and half the posters want to see it burn anyways. The truth is that the site has never been profitable and it's a giant pain in the ass to manage, and no one is stupid or charitable enough to make it whole without some sort of side-angle or grift.
Look at all the people on social media claiming they want to buy and restore it, they're all grifters.
If it ever comes back it'll be even more ghoulish than before.
I mean, the site has its problems with shilling, the 15 minute counter, IP's not counted, tranny jannies, only being able to say nigger 3 times each post etc, but it was still doing just fine yesterday. Long term these issues should be solved, but short term there's nothing wrong with just getting the site back up to what it was yesterday. Lots of people here have been saying it's unusuable which is horseshit. Still plenty of good discussion and threads up all the time, depending on the board at least.

4chan is still mostly good though. Just ignore spam and shill threads. Not every board has tyrannical jannies either.
I pretty much agree. It has been in a consistently good state overall for a long while. It's one of the rare websites that managed to work around the paradigm shift in online interaction and remain true to itself despite having to sanitize in some places because de-platforming is a real risk and legal consequences loom around every corner.

People sharing overenthusiastic hate and a depressive outlook for the site honestly just feel like they got simply to old to adapt and miss the community as they remember it. Just like a boomer posting about them youths on Facebook except they don't have a Facebook to flee to. There's obviously valid critic but mod and janny bias has been a thing older than time itself and no, it wasn't better on old 4chan either.

It's kinda blowing my mind that they somehow have a system over at 4chan wherein this issue would take longer than it already has to fix. One would imagine they could just put a hard stop to it and revert the site to a previous version. Meanwhile in 4chanland somehow their admins are seemingly clueless about contingency.

Honestly, new we know who's to blame (officially confirmed by the Sharty themselves), we might see some merging between the Sharty thread and the 4Chan thread.

Some sort of update or even an acknowledgement would be nice. There's a 4chan Twitter account with 150k followers that hasn't posted in three years. That would be a good place to start. Or maybe Hiro could say something. Just an idea.

I appreciate that if something goes wrong here, Null immediately posts to Telegram.
Null runs a tight ship without being a petty dictator. Obvious shitstirrers, pedos, fedposters, etc. get banned faster than they did on Dorsey-era Twitter.

The issue is the site itself is so out of date that even if they "rolled it back" it wouldn't stop the issue of them doing this literally immediately again.
