While we're at it, did any of you also notice a sudden increase in "aggression" on 4chan during the past year? What I mean is that if you tried to effortpost on, say, a hobby board (like /g/ or /o/) there would always be 1 or 2 people who would enter the thread and act all pissed off, saying everyone's retarded and acting like you had killed their newborn child or something. Everyone always seemed irritable/on edge compared to even just a few years back.

It wasn't just typical "lol kys fag" shit, it almost felt weirdly personal. Artificial also to an extent. Forgive me if I sound schizo, I don't know how to put the feeling into words. Maybe I'm just retarded

I was on there a lot more about 5 or 6 years ago and it was still somewhat useable for having discussions about hobbies but since I started lurking again like 6 months ago it's night and day. actual discussions are either drowned out by shit-flinging for no particular reason or the thread dies because of shit-flinging in other threads on the board.

I recall back when I was on the site regularly most people had a pornography addiction, but they hated troons and generally wanted to be left alone. I'm a 2020 newnigger so I have no say in anything, but I'm pretty sure 4chan had both a guro board (/g/ before it was about tech) and a lolicon board in the 00s. Which did make it more compartmentalized, to be fair. The porn-brained degeneracy was seeping into every board before yesterday's events.

Yeah that's how I thought it should be given the sites have enough in common. Quite a few times someone made an eceleb thread there, get something wrong, and I'd post where on the farms to find the correct answer (not linking it of course because the jannies made that an autoban).

there have always been a lot of middle schoolers on there who lose interest in it and move on when they get jobs or girlfriends or go into the world and live a little. the last few batches of them just haven’t been hackerish to speak of so they don’t really dig for info or make news or get into things they’re not supposed to anymore.

But the "organic" userbase of that board belongs on reddit or tumblr so they ain't a good representation of the majority opinion on 4chan about the farms.
