Where do I even go for my news now? As astroturfed as it was /pol/ pretty much constantly had the news days/weeks in advance. Twitter is shit up since Elon fucked with the algorithm recently and interacting with a single post completely spams my for you page. 1. BTFO a janny in an argument or have different tastes/opinions from "her"
2. Said janny will then check your IP and scan through all of "her" boards and find a post "s"he can pass off as a 3 day off topic ban (global rule so it's all boards).
3. Disengaged faggot pedophile moderators automatically approve all tranny janitor bans (if they don't, said tranny jannies will bawl and throw a hissy on the 'cord/irc)
4. "S"he waits 3-5 days for you to come back and make a few posts
5. Checks your IP again, finds another post "s"he can 3 day ban you for
6. Eventually, if you don't give up on the site or switch IPs, you have a lengthy ban history and "s"he can recommend a perma for 'long ban history'

/r9k/ and /tv/ were among the boards with the most aggressive moderation on this standard. Some boards lacked these types of jannies so depending on where you posted you might avoid encountering this if your home board had actually decent moderation.

I loved to post off topic on /tv/, you would unironically have the best discussions on that board. Most of my off topic was rather inoffensive stuff just not strictly related to /tv/ in the real spirit. Sometimes I would funpost and make a thread that was just barely relevant to /tv. but was really an excuse to discuss a hot button social issue like the tranny menace or brown people.

One of my IPs was permaed off /tv/ for 60 bans, which was rare usually they don't let you get that high

One of the things I’ve seen in this thread over the past few days is jannies always being trannies, without fail. It sounds funny but it makes sense when you really think about it.

The only people mentally ill enough to voluntarily spend all day inside cleaning up fucking 4chan boards (and deleting any thread that mildly pisses them off) are degenerate trannies with nothing better to do. Normal (by the standards of 4chan) people don’t want to spend all fucking day doing that, so only a very small and insane portion of people does.

It’s not just 4chan. That’s why I believe moderation is so fucking terrible now.

Does 4chan need moderation? With the way it was before? Yes. People have cited up and down this thread that the reason the site turned to shit was partially due to bad moderation.
Why are all the mods/jannies complete shit and also retarded? Because you're right, the people who are both patient enough and have the temperance to do that job also have the wits to not spend their precious free time doing such an insane and unrewarding task.
So how do fix it? How do you attract moderators to work such a site that is also famously unprofitable?
