It would take a *well-maintained* website weeks to reinstall its whole system (FreeBSD 10.1 -> 14.2 or ideally -> Linux), identify every vulnerability in its now-exposed source code and patch them (4chan's tranny developers inept and couldn't do this even in a very maintainable source code, let alone their extremely poorly written monolithic .php files) and replace the members of staff who will now undoubtedly resign (good luck finding new ones).

It will take them MONTHS. And once those retards realize it will take months AT THE MINIMUM, they will give up. The only hope is hiroshimoot coughing up some money for new developers, but I doubt he cares about his drunk purchase enough to do that.

Depending on how pwnt they are, it could be anywhere from no time at all or dead forever. From the sounds of it, the hacker hasn't modified anything, which if the case you can expect it to come back sooner rather than later.
It's just a matter of running freebsd-update -r $MAJOR_RELEASE a bunch of times. Depending on the filesystem in use (ZFS/UFS) they might be able to get away with backing up the application dataset (hopefully they made one), reinstall the system, then import the dataset.

For me the big indicator of a newfag who wasn't actually around during 4chan's heyday is insisting the 2016 election is when all hope was lost. It certainly didn't help, but by 2014 the userbase had a huge sense of distrust with the jannies that would never be repaired.

The need for more "diversity, representation, inclusion" is because gaming was too white, male and toxic before and it needs to be fixed. Leftists believe that problematic people or communities have problematic voodoo that indoctrinates those people, so gaming being a hotbed of "radicalization" is also a problem.

The other thing is the way these people lie, it's always from a position of oppression and being attacked. So they love the drama, they need to frame it in a particular way. GamerGate wasn't people pointing out this nepotism or rejecting the progressive hipster dipshits gaining a cultural strangehold on gaming as both a medium and community, it was cryptofascists and Steve Bannon radicalizing gamers into hating women and gay people.

But there was also some weird shit like DARPA funneling money into these progressive agitprop groups to start pushing out the progressive messaging. Basically like the USAID thing, although that's probably more of an A&H area to get into than this thread.
