moot was always diligent at keeping the site functional and up to date and trying to twist it into something usable. Its pretty obvious that he was an essential piece to the site both culturally and when it came to administrating the systems. You can be damn sure that he would never have allowed the OS to be out of date by nearly a decade and most of the packages also out of date by a decade.
Yeah and while I can't bring myself to hate him, he did deliberately load the mod team up with these very troons and other scum who have just gotten doxed, and then sold it to a gook grifter.

So, salt tosses aside and pound of flesh paid, this is a message for the 4chan team to read when the website goes back up.

1. "Be more proactive about your jobs" You've grown incredibly lax over the years to the point of stagnating and letting your circle become a cult of personality that became out of touch with reality.
2. "Be more critical about who you hire" I understand that you want to hire people you know, however, you let in infiltrators that with a little bit of background searching could've prevented. I speak in regards to Suzuran and to the Sharty janny you let slip in 2 hires ago before kicking him.
3. "Be more communicative to the userbase" This is similar stated to point 1, when the only layer of feedback is Discord channels inaccessible to most, IRC inaccessible to most, and ban messages, no wonder people grew disillusioned and you grew more xenophobic. You have a feedback system. Actually use it.
4. "Take your jobs seriously" You are the number one image board on the internet, yet you allowed this to happen because of lack of caring, your immured culture of moderation, and disregarding anything outside of your own cultured viewpoints. That was incredibly foolish of you to the point of literary comedy.
5. "Take things less personally" This does not only apply to you, but to everyone on the internet. It isn't about you, and you aren't the main character; we're all just netizens online at the same time of human history, your perspective, while unique to you, doesn't mean shit in terms of your position.
6. "Remember, you're here forever" You've been through worse, now back up on the saddle you go. There's cats to be posted, and memes to be toasted.
7. "Remember who you are" You are legion, you do not forget, you do not forget. Always rember happy day.
8. ???
9. PROFIT!!!

To all the /intl/ officers we lost along the way in the march of progress, this one's for you.

I noticed that, but I think it's because of another reason. /mlp/ had a lot of green and art being churned out because the coof happened at that time and people had a lot of free time. "Idle hands are the devil's plaything," they say, but it makes a lot of color. When the coof ended and people went back to being busy with work, /mlp/ just kind of... stopped. The difference was pretty stark. I'm pretty sad that happened because a lot of stories I enjoyed were abandoned, and I'm wadding through a minefield of them, even now. I agree that the "mare" phenomenon was another nail, which funnily enough can be traced back to "snowpity" and the /mlp/ online con during covid. At least it spawned some art of obscure ponies, I guess.
ponyfuckers get what they deserve.

This shutdown has proven to be really inconvenient. The site being down affects archival websites, most particularly Archiveofsins. I had some catching up to do after my long absence from gooning.
Does anyone know of a good porn alt-chan that isn't riddled with pedos. 4chan.gay is repulsive and all I ever wanted was to congregate with likeminded individuals that appreciate porn synced with music, and make them leak by sharing my shitty blacked phonk HMVs. Just wanted to Vent, but directions to a probable place is appreciated.

Also what I find particularly funny is how they were wasting their time working on those lame April fools tricks instead of fixing the website. Imagine having a codebase in that state and doing all those.
And let's not forget, that April fool "joke" was just making the site completely unusable because these evil cucks, faggots, troons, and utter garbage hate the users. It wasn't a "joke." It was just an expression of pure hatred.

I hope they're enjoying what they're getting back.

I don't know, the new users in this thread seem all right. Imagine of we had groypers or something instead. The gates would have been slammed shut immediately.
Yeah some are cool, I guess I've just seen the real shitters and they've ruined my outlook on them all.
The good ones just joined at unfortunate timing.

A lot of the jannies' pranks seem to boil down to "make the site unusable for a day." It's rarely anything clever, like making everybody fight over Easter candy flavors.

The funny thing is that /mlp/ is an excellent case study in this. At some point in 2021 all original ideas just fell off a cliff and everything became a game of spamming the word "mare", two or three background characters and then everything new needs to be "mare is x" or "mare(associated object/characteristic)" with anything actually new derided as being forced and unwelcome. It's like something with the 2020 election just finally purged the last of the true creatives from the site overall signaling the true endpoint.
Any thread where creative stuff was happening on /mlp/ that wasn't links to porn would get retards derailing spamming about how it was somehow offboard or tf tranny/rewatch tranny or some other buzzword. It wasn't unusual to see in the same threads people bitching about a lack of content only for people to start making content and the autistic REEEEing to start up. It was really bad around 2021-22 and it definitely drove artists off and killed some generals

Just don't.

People will always bring up "politics" in relation to when the website began to sink in quality, but for me it was a issue that I feel like seeded for all that to happen.

2011-2012 was when the wind really began to change direction on that website. Overnight it felt like all the big boards were obsessed with Reddit/Tumblr, being Anti-Reddit/Tumblr, and making sure they had "board culture". Which was always there, but rather than being a unspoken joke between strangers, it felt forced. Didn't like this shitty forced meme? Well you're a REDDITOR! That's really when I feel like most major boards began to shift downward. Still plenty of gold left in the hills in the upcoming years, but I felt like that was kinda the beginning of the end.

To this day a lot of them seethe hard at getting called "poopniggas" because of an anon pointing out how all the artists they simp for all draw visible assholes that look like overinflated bike tires, and the funnier part is most if not all of them were offboarders.
