This was a long time ago but /k/ used to do these survival kit threads that I found real comfy. It was just people making their ideal bugout bag. They would go into super autistic amount of detail about the availability of ammo types, the weight of lighters, size of guns, reliability of brands and more. Instead of sperging at eachother they would offer advice and work together to refine loadouts. That was my only real expirence with 4chan that I remember and enjoy. Never interacted with it but I would read those threads each week.

there were a fucking shit ton of users and there was a fucking shit ton of traffic. It's hard to remember specifics but QPS was in the mid to high double-digits on normal daytime hours and spiked into the triple-digits during primetime

8chan served some fraction (probably less than 30%) of the traffic served by 4chan

everything was a potential problem, from the network filesystem to the top-of-rack switch

same xenforo issue that sometimes causes problems quoting long posts, if it occurs you will see it in the image preview and can delete and retry
if it recurs repeatedly change strategies - try dragging the image into the text window from the Windows Explorer or copy-paste the image into the message text instead of using "attach files"
