Completely agree, which is why you had to be extremely careful about posting anything that could be deliberately misconstrued as a fedpost. But let's be honest: All of us, and I mean ALL of us, are on some type of list already. This is a consequence of living in a digital age that is completely dominated by malicious actors who view 99% of humanity as "cattle."

The risks, however, were worth it in a lot of ways.

I saw moments of sheer brilliance on that board that I had never witnessed anywhere else and will never witness again, and these are the things that I am lamenting at the moment.

We played the most epic game of Capture The Flag in human history with an unwilling participant named Shia LaBeouf. Anons were analyzing star charts and flight paths, for fuck's sake. The most advanced AI in the world simply cannot compete with that level of weaponized autism.

"Milk is racist" came from 4Chan.

We tricked feminists into "freebleeding" and walking around in public with period blood all over their pants just because we thought it would be funny. The fact that they actually fell for it was the cherry on top. The world will never see trolling like this ever again.

All of these moments will be lost in time.... like tears in rain.
It's amazing how those freaks fell for that shit, the ok hand sign being a white supremacist sign is another that comes to mind.

It is real, but supposedly a mistranslation. Whether it was intentional or a mistake is a different question.
it isn't a mistranslation, the redditor was just coping

This one, or 8chan, or some other image board that ends up being the same shit anyway.
8chan is absolute crap. 8chan.moe is just /v/, 8kun.top is just /pol/ and extra unhinged at that. Soyjak.st is just what /qa/ used to be.
There really needs to be something for the hobby boards like /g/, /tv/, /fit/, /lit/, /biz/, /int/, /an/, /sci/, /k/, /a/, /fa/ and so on. Kiwifarms is good for having fun and not censoring yourself but the forum format is more for having an actual discussion on 1000-page threads rather than ephemeral funposting where threads are gone after a few days at most.

I wonder how long your average 4chan user will realize they'll have to go cold turkey and quit their addiction to the site and then as weeks go by the realization that 4chan may never come back will set in? Where do they go? Just settle down in Discord and Reddit more?

I'm new here - referred by someone who has been around a while. This place feels more like old m00t-era 4chan than any other site.
I can spazz out hardcore over fucking shit skins and sandal bombers, and see people with opposing political views calling each other faggots and niggers. No bans.
This place is the fucking best.
I have been lurking for about 2 years and realized a while ago that the shit people write on here is way funnier than 4chan.

Ironically it's also a lot friendlier than any site or discord server with 2 pages of rules about "toxic behavior." Some dude commented on my page just to say welcome. I don't think I've had that happen since 2003 or something.

Looking forward to watching Bowblax get evicted with you.

captcha humiliation rituals.
Which is what makes Hiro money, which in turn keeps the site running.
Not the best solution, I'm critical of it. But if it keeps the site running, it could be necessary. I don't expect them to radically change the DNA of the website and stop supporting their 4chan pass users overnight.

[...] something for the hobby boards like /g/ [...]
There's always lain-chan if you crave some quality /g/entoomen company, even if the site seems deader than a doorknob. On the plus side it 4chanx supports it so you can at least have a decent gallery feature, which can't be said of all the other altchans, even those that implement their own.

I'm going to miss /m/, even if the mod was the worlds biggest faggot.

Imdb message boards WAS what /tv/ was but Bozos had to nuke that. Comicbookresources was basically /co/ but they nuked that too. Gamefaqs was /vg/ back in the day. How hard is it to just have a site where you can discuss media but without politics n shit?

As of now, Sharty is the most popular English-speaking imageboard on the web, so a lot of people will just go there.
But Sharty isn't a perfect solution-it's a temporary one, lacking many of the boards 4chan had.
I guess the good news is that we'll see more altchans appear and see the effects of cultural osmosis on them.

/g/ had a surprising number of smart people on it, but also way too many retards obsessing over which member of the smartphone duopoly is the least shitty

I was wondering where my /classical/ general bros went. That was basically the only thread on 4chan I regularly checked. It was finally getting very comfy as well once the janny who had a hateboner for Richard Wagner left.

Same reason I'm here. I've lurked for years but finally decided to join a while back and as you say, I find people are genuinely much, much friendlier than the more 'mainstream' options. People are highly opinionated, no doubt, and you'll certainly run into people you (respectfully) disagree with, but at least people speak their minds here.
