I wonder how long your average 4chan user will realize they'll have to go cold turkey and quit their addiction to the site and then as weeks go by the realization that 4chan may never come back will set in? Where do they go? Just settle down in Discord and Reddit more?

Average 4ch user, like me I assume, is just someone who comes on to shit/fun post on easier weeks when there's no vidya to play and that's about it, it's not a big deal if it stays down (there's a good chance an alternative would pop up sooner or later, but it's unlikely, 4ch will be back up likely in couple of weeks).
Tbf it would be a bit sadge if it stays down, where else would I make fun of absolutely deranged turboincels like the ones on /vt/, where they act like their anime streamers are pure virgin lesbian saint internet girlfriends who don't even know what a penis is while all men are evil, but at the same time they hate irl women? Anyway, it's wild, making fun of subhumans there is a guilty pleasure of mine. I'd miss /pol/ too. When something significant actually happens, it gets spammed there for days and I can just ask for a spoonful if more context is needed. I can work and do other stuff while only coming in for 15min once every couple of days and still get all the juicy info, especially stuff that mainstream news glosses over.

8chan is absolute crap. 8chan.moe is just /v/, 8kun.top is just /pol/ and extra unhinged at that. Soyjak.st is just what /qa/ used to be.
There really needs to be something for the hobby boards like /g/, /tv/, /fit/, /lit/, /biz/, /int/, /an/, /sci/, /k/, /a/, /fa/ and so on. Kiwifarms is good for having fun and not censoring yourself but the forum format is more for having an actual discussion on 1000-page threads rather than ephemeral funposting where threads are gone after a few days at most.

I liked 8chan before Christchurch. Once that happened everyone left due to Jim turning the place into a honeypot and went back to 4chan. I really miss what it used to be, at it's peak the place was my favorite site on the net where I could genuinely have some interesting discussions with all sorts of people. It's because of this that I have an immense hatred of Brenton Tarrant and still believe he was a glowie op, as his actions' consequences have only benefitted the people he "fought" and turned the internet 10 times shittier.

For the autistic obsessed shitposters, the kind of posters who were on the site 18+ hours a day to make sure no one was allowed to discuss whatever topic agitated their autism, they have nowhere to go. Most sites aren't going to put up with their mental illness like an anonymous board would. Even if they do find another imageboard they'll be too slow a substitute for them. They're pretty fucked.

This thread moves too fast, and I simply do not have the time to catch up, but I've been able to glean that 4chan's backend has more or less been in a state of total neglect since Moot walked away....which was just over a decade ago. As such, I've reached the following conclusions:
i) The fact that it took so long for 4chan to get hacked speaks volumes as to its relevance (4chan literally is shit nobody cares about).
ii) The fact that the sharters needed "years of planning" to pull off an attack on such a vulnerable target speaks volumes as to their capabilities (they're retards).
iii) This whole debacle can really be seen as nothing more than tard-on-tard violence.

Between the jannies, schizos, manchildren that never grew out of their teens, endless discord raids and what have you there were maybe at best a handful of threads left on the entire site that were holding out like the fucking last Gaulish village in Asterix and Obelix, and even those were rapidly turning to shit.
I will miss the fun times, but those have been gone for a loooong while now.
