It is yeah, but there's degenerate and then there's subversive degenerate.
I think the most recent anime I watched that I liked was Garo Vanishing Line.
Its definitely degenerate, but its not subversive. Its values are decent, the young girl character isn't a lolli, she's like a little sister, or daughter even. Its not trying to undermine the real world's values or "engineer social change" or be perversely edgy the world is just gritty, and it has a sense of humor about big tiddies and they fight demons.
Its not hard to make good stories that aren't subversive.

real talk if you don't like cartoons don't watch cartoons

I like cartoons a lot. Been watching them since I was a kid. I love old Disney cartoons, WB, Hanna Barbera, all of it. I love the shitty animation from Korea and the beautiful animation from France. Every season (a season is about 3 months) I watch every anime and I drop the ones I hate.

This season there were around 47 anime and I dropped all but 4, the majority on the first episode.

The people recommending anime to you did not watch those four anime.

Th!s sh!t got me stopp!ng watch!ng the show bwcause to placate people demandng "no f!ller/an!me only stor!es" so they run out of com!c and !nstead of tak!ng a break t!llnew mater!al came out they'd stretch battles out for 20 ep!sodes or some sh!t, !t gets REALLY bad fast w!th that, pre t!mesk!p !s un!ron!cally better than the major!tyof the show because of how !t doesn't have that sh!t. !'m just gonna have to buy the rest of the manga someday, haven't p!kedup a new book s!nce ! was st!ll a k!d so last copy ! own !s when usopp (the funny jew) jo!ns.
