I've been posting on that site for a really long time. It's sad to see it go but I say fucking good. 4chan was the shell of it's former self. People always talk about times when 4chan arbitrarily dies but many of my friends including myself all agree that the 900 second wait time to post was truly the death of 4chan. Not because I was upset about having to wait, but because it was a blatant attack on anonymity with the strong encouragement to give them your dox. What is 4chan without anonymous? Nothing. Another reddit. So, I say good riddance. Fuck Gookmoot, Fuck the jannies, Fuck the trannies, Fuck the mods. bury that dead horse for good. Another bastion of old internet set to pasture as the world wibe web gets smaller and smaller.

Depends on how well he covered his tracks when he accessed the 4chan servers, and he's already posted on both the Sharty and Kiwi Farms identifying himself as the hacker and posting incriminating evidence, do you think they won't cooperate if sent a subpoena to provide info on that poster?

I never fucking understood why 4chan refused to allow webm's to have sound. You could argue it was about preserving the Image part of it being an image board but then they go and give /gif/ and /wsg/ the ability to post with sound.

I thought it was to ensure that /wsg/ and /gif/ continued to have a reason to exist. Otherwise /pol/ or /b/ webm threads would kill the other boards? It was kinda nice to have all the videos exist exclusively on 2 boards.

Modern message boards are a huge pile of shit. I think the main problem is the same as with 4chan - the mods are overzealous. The other one is not acknowledging freedom of speech. Say a single no-no word and that's usually enough to get banned.

Same happens in video games. Developers COULD just let players regulate text/voice chat themselves. You know, let them mute others at will. But noooo, that would take away their power. Censorship is still one of the strongest weapons in modern politics and culture, so why would they give up using it of their own volition?

The fact that a sizeable number of users use hacked together 4chanx extensions to brute force sound on webms means that it is a badly needed feature and would have been implemented with any other administration.
