Yeah we cant know, but just look at the state of the UK, its way more fucked than USA, not even close, it lost all of its relevance in the last 60 years and is commited to lose even more, but somehow MI6 still seems to be quite active. They either went extremely rogue and corrupt or are controlled by other intels.
