Very few of these sites matter to intelligence agencies. Breachforum? That was something that mattered. Most of you people just talk about retarded shit all day, and if it isn't retarded, it got scraped by an automated system and was ingested by a machine that looks for interesting keywords, just like as is done across all social media and all IP space really.

Like are all of you faggots who talk about "glowies" or glowniggers fundamentally unaware of the entire industry of threat intelligence? You're not really relevant, and when you are, you know it and either weaponize it or sell it.

You make a great point, but what's the alternative explanation? There being some cabal of darkweb operatives with tons of CP just lurking the internet, waiting for any lesser known imageboards to pop up and then spamming that with CP, and this cabal goes under the radar every time so no authority can do anything about it, only reappearing to repeat the cycle?

I think it's less about those altchans "mattering" and more of it clearing the board of any alternatives to 4chan which is the "devil they know". It's already populated, already infiltrated with tons of marketers and shills, there's entire livelyhoods made off of 4chan posts(greentext reads and twitter reposts and whatnot) and who knows what else. Why not nip any alternative in the bud before it gets off the ground. Sharty and 8moe I think are expections because they probably are 4chan-lite. I can't speak for the sharty but Mark and Jim Watkins of 8moe/kun already had their run with the authorities and I fully expect some deal was made behind the curtains.

A less plausible but comedically dark alternative would be that no one on altchans bothers to report anything so nothing ever reaches the eyes or ears of anyone capable of doing anything about it and it really is one or two really annoying lolifags shitting up the entire internet.

I'm fairly new to running vichan instances, but rather old to running custom imageboard software (since about 2012):

It's mostly commercial (they make money on pay per download scamming, like most link spammers) + actual pedophile activists who want you to make a loli board + esthers who upload hard to find CP, and then report it to your ISP to destroy you because they hate you for political reasons.

apart from imageboard culture, I'm a security professional: sites like this never come up. Ever. Even 4chan getting hacked wasn't even water cooler talk at work.

Threat intel literally just scrapes shit, archives it, and then greps for interesting shit when they think it's interesting. Open source threat intel is even more boring, and is mostly telemetry. Like you guys are right to be paranoid if you're confessing crimes on these platforms, but end of day, this is a woman's website: all ya'll talking about is gossip: ya'll ain't breachforums talking about selling databreaches, password lists, 0days, and shit that's really criminal or sketch. To that ends, ya'll aren't something anyone thinks about.
