We have dumb niggers in this very thread going back to 4chan less than a week after all indisputably saw how bad the mods and tranny jannies actually were.

It's unlikely that anybody worth their salt is actually going to go back, at all. People were given just enough time to find a new home and settle in. I can attest to the altchans I hang around that they exploded in userbase and most of the sentiment was very anti-4chan's-return. Nobody really cares if it comes back and the few that do likely don't have anything to offer anywhere else.

You can't get root access if a firewall is making sure a random IP can't connect to port 22. It was proxied, sure, but I guess they either did not block port 22 on the main server or the hacker's payload issued firewall commands as root through the posted "PDF". And no, the latter option won't work if you isolate your imageboard software and whatnot that's running inside the server properly.

You don't need SSH to have a shell on the server. The payload could be setup to do something like DL a chisel client from github over 443, and then connect to a chisel server that's open on 443. Then you pop a reverse shell that routes over that chisel tunnel, and you're good. You never touched port 22 at all, and only made use of 443 and high-number scratch ports that the server should have open for general functionality.

Without chisel, you could setup SSH reverse tunnels using an SSH server that is setup to use 443 instead of 22.

You could detect all this with a good EDR or something, but if you're shipping encrypted traffic over 443, it's gonna be hard to detect with a firewall or IDS, since it's just gonna look like what's supposed to go over 443 to begin with (HTTPS, which is also encrypted).

This was the most frustrating part of /tg/ and quite literally the cut that killed the cat. It's such an engaging and interesting hobby that there's an endless ocean of things to say about it but the moderation was deadset on making sure NOTHING of quality was posted, EVER.

This tragically explains why 1d4chan (or the Mirahzee one) felt like it was suspended in time. The well has become so foul and tainted /tg/ simply isn't getting things done anymore.

Tragically, the conclusion to be gained here is to make a /tg/ alternative just filter the troons and faggots that killed the board.
