The build itself is of the Wii version of the game before it had been cancelled by LucasArts. I saw this and I found it interesting so hey, some of you may get a kick out of it. This build itself is significant faster than what has been seen with the previously leaked Xbox 360 build of the game. Free Radical has previously stated that the game was cancelled when the game was 99% complete. As such, we should treat this as being close to what the complete product would have been had it been released in 2008.

Video with footage:

Google drive with the build, as per the pinned comment (don't trust me, I haven't checked it) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1V_z6O5CqPYKoq90u-KGkdGd1UvUiy77y

But I suppose this technically means we got Star Wars Battlefront 3 before GTA 6

Its been technically playable for years I dont know why you guys still act like these BF3 leaks are major when the failed abortion of Battlefront 3 DOES exist in the form of Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron exclusive to the PSP. However, calling it a failed abortion is mean becasue some how this shitty scrapped together PSP port had space and land combat something DICE couldn't do for their battlefronts.

Battlefront is one of those series much like Sonic Adventure in which the game is complete trash, but has a huge following because its fans couldn't buy better games.

And now here we are.
The Galactic Contention mod for Squad is better in basically every way and that shit is free.

What battlefrontesque games are you thinking of? I've yet to find another FPS/TPS with a gamemode like Galactic Conquest (other than what @The Evil Midnight Bomber shared). Actually, does Squad have NPCs? If not then it still isnt the same.

For me it is just a perspective problem. The game is good, but what Battlefront did was not new for me and I believe had already been superseded by other games. I cut my teeth on Quake, Earth/Starsiege and Tribes; networked gaming stopped being a mystery by 1990. So on day one, Battlefront was mid-tier right out of the box.

Galactic conquest is indeed a cool mode, but the underlying gameplay never held enough depth or challenge to hold my attention for long. It was mostly territory that had already been conquered, even if it was a novelty for console gamers at the time.

The first game is good, but I cannot help but see its praise being somewhat retroactive (it is Star Wars after all) and a case of console gamers playing catch up with PC gamers and being happy that they finally got a seat at that table.

Think of it like this: when Battlefront came out in 2004, Tribes 2 had been out for years and was still very popular, Battlefield 1942 (and Vietnam I guess) was still out and the next year the great Battlefield 2 (and SWAT 4) would be released. Not to mention the pile of games spun off or acquired by Valve. Wasn't Planetside also a thing by then? Looked it up and it was. Planetside was huge.

It was a good time for shooter fans. But on the console side they were still playing catch up. Heck... I still can't find games today that do all the stuff right that many of these old games did effortlessly, Battlefront included.
