If Mel wants to hitch her life to a psycho addict like Aaron, that’s her choice. She’s choosing to stay with Aaron and suffer so any sympathy is in short supply. The real problem is she chose to create and bring a baby into this steaming pile of shit and suffering.

Thankfully we live in an age where there is reliable birth control so there is zero excuse for having a baby with a violent, schizo human garbage. It’s not like he suddenly became an lunatic while she was pregnant. In fact she got pregnant again as fast as she could after her miscarriage so this was an obvious priority for her.

It's very probable that Aaron suffered some forms of abuse (and was certainly used by his parent(s) as a workhorse from the time he was very young.) That doesn't stop him from being responsible for his actions now. The same thing applies to Mel. She's made plenty of shitty and irresponsible choices (including being with Aaron this long) so there's really no one to blame but herself (same applies to Aaron.)

Definitely feel bad for the baby though. What a horribly bleak start in this world.

10 days postpartum she is undoubtedly experiencing a huge hormone crash. When someone gives birth their body needs about 6 months for their hormones to level out. The first three weeks can be really intense and insane.

At about 6 weeks postpartum she and the others around her really need to start to watch for postpartum depression/psychosis. I genuinely hope that her family comes and scoops her and her child away from Aaron.

Melanie seems like an attention whore and thot with almost no future planning skills, but she is going through a genuine biological hormonal roller coaster and needs support and love and low levels of stress.

Imagine just giving birth and feeling insane and your baby daddy is throwing a fit and locking himself in his room, claiming to be a “single dad”, rejecting you completely. Waving guns around and getting the police called because your just born baby is in the background. Insanity.
