Oh no, I saw Oboeshoesgames say in his AC8 Review that in order to get fucking old Ace skins for SP ( ex: Cipher, Talisman, Shamrock, Gault) you have to play MP and roll the lootbox gacha. Also, due to the Plane Licensing bullshit you need to have AC8 installed on Steam to play Zero because it's counted as a """dlc."""

Either way I should just buy a Virpil HOTAS set and call it a day.

Just play with a gamepad. I have my HOTAS set up for DCS/Nuclear Option and I don't think this is the game for that.

At most I'll probably set my pedals up for yaw if that's an option.

Nuclear Option's PvE air war servers are great but I think I'm too retarded to understand the plane unlock/etc system in them.

I also play on controller but actually flying is fun.

Also it has the distinction of being the only Ace Combat to allow us to fly helicopters. Does this magically make it good? Not really, but it just goes to show that even the worst game in the series has redeeming qualities.

I respectfully disagree. Ace combat is a ton of fun with a hotas and it has supported hotas controls including analog throttle since the second game forward. I have even emulated ACX and flew that with a hotas because it's the same engine as 4. @The Unbecoming

I'm using a logitech/saitek X52, I'll probably upgrade to VKB at some point but for a sub 200$ option the X52 is a great starting point.
