D.D looks like he wears an Apple watch, Baxter's probably rocking a Samsung. If I have spare time later, I'll have a crack at recreating his watch skin. Is it just me or does some of Tasha's concept art look like Emma Watson?

Just beat the game. I can see why people said the final fight is a little underwhelming compared to mission 29. But, I think that's sort of intentional. 29's the real climax and 30 is just wrapping things up.

Overall, I really enjoyed the game. I'd rate it higher than 7 overall, even though I do have a few minor gripes. Really feels like a culmination of the entire series as a whole up to this point though.

Unrelated: But I can't believe I only just now learned Assault Horizon was written by the dude who wrote American Sniper. What an odd choice.
 
The last 5 missions got me harder than I thought they would.

Wasn't this the case with Ace Combat 7 as well? With back to back missions where you fight Erusea's best ace and then take down the arsenal bird in the next, while the last mission is just facing two unmanned drones

To be fair those two drones are some of the most bullshit enemies in the game

Somewhat. But the fight with the Ravens was pretty intense. Like when the nose of one unit detached and you had to chase it through the tunnels under the Lighthouse. More impressive than a submarine that is objectively less dangerous than the Alicorn was.

5 too. 3rd to last mission is Sea of Chaos, 2nd to last is the Sudentor fight and tunnel run, and the last is just the 8 grey men, Replicator and the defenseless SOLG.

Being that 5 is my favorite, the way 8 ended didn’t bother me at all.

I wish the FCU had un-mothballed Phoenix’s XFA-27 and gave it to Rex for the mega float attack.

5 is also my favorite so I thought that was some really nice fan service.

I hope the MSTM is actually good this time. It's still kind of weird that neither the XFA-27, SU-37 or F-22 belonging to Phoenix has been datamined for 8. Especially since he was contracted out by the FCU. So far the datamined planes for 8 are CFA-44 Pasternak, F-14A Razgriz, SU-37 Yellow 13, SU-30SM Mihaly, ADF-11F Trigger.
 
I won't be surprised if AC9 turns out to be about the Sotoa-Yuktobanian War considering the newer games seem to be spiritual successors of the Holy Trinity
AC4 -> AC7
AC5 -> AC8
ACZ -> AC9

Also GoW ended at 3 for me. It is a fucking TRAVESTY that the entire E-day plot gets undercut by girl boss fag shit.

The number going around for AC8 is $40 million.
A tenth (give or take) of what Gears Corporate-friendly Nostalgiaslop cost to make, for arguably better numbers. All they have to do now is fix the multiplayer gripes, and Bandai Namco can watch from on high as Xbox shuts down yet another flop factory.
