As a gen zer myself I have noticed a lot of changes and shifts in entertainment from it being stylized to politicly motivated, and everything else from a whole nine yards that I have seen in my time here being on earth. AI on the other hand is a nice tool to use every now and then to make content and entertainment that anyone can use. Anyone.

I have notice a change in youtube too with horible AI photoshoped thumbnails of police and court cam videos:

I recently watched a video that mudahar covered and he said that the internet not just social media is being taken over by AI in a way.

It kind of scares me that a tool that is so out advance and advancing in serval years could be used for slop in the internet, or makes me feel like everyone is stupid that they are just using AI for shit like having ChatGPT as your legal advice when suing someone on the internet.

What do you guys think? Feel free to share any shitty AI content you found here btw

I am very sick of these Super Panavision AI slop videos getting so many fucking views

AIslop.png

Or these "fever dream" videos. So much views and engagement for 0 effort. This one in particular just rips off the Mario Twins Flash movie with the song too. Veggietales was right, entertainment will be randomly generated.

I also found this video pretty interesting, kliksphillip (CS2 Youtuber) defending his use of AI imagery in one of his recent videos.

Oh yeah the fucking Movie review recap channels with an AI voice and narration that sometimes miss the entire plot of movies in general
And sometimes they steal content from content creators to use their footage:

Original
Stolen Content

It's inevitable. Uncreative people devoid of artistic merit (and foreign content farms) will use AI to rake in ebux. I'm gen x and find AI content to be pretty unappealing. Is gen z more prone to watching this type of content? The alpha kiddos will see it as normal. And their ability to discern AI news from real news will suffer because of it.

As AI becomes more commonplace we will see more dead celebrities achieving immortality via AI. I would not be surprised if having an AI clause in your contract and your will becomes a thing. People already had an adverse reaction to hologram Dio and that wasn't even AI. The Kiss avatars got a bad reaction too because they are just awful. But that is gonna change as it becomes more commonplace to see dead and retired artists perform forever and ever due to the magic of AI.

Computers don't have to be paid. So generating more AI news means the news source will save money. Journos are not what they used to be. But that's the fault of the industry not properly vetting talent as well as how the internet works in general. Any moron with the internet can submit a poorly written article or opinion piece. Desktop publishing was both a blessing and a curse. Now everyone thinks people want to see their oh so enlightened opinions. And don't even get me started on TikTok. Kids prefer to get their news from there and AI mills will take advantage of that.

Surprised that Facebook AI garbage wasn't mentioned yet.

I watched a video which claimed that these posts are not made by bots, but by hindus, and it does sound believable cause the language barrier is a plausible reason why the image often doesn't correspond to the post content. And apparently it's pretty easy to get into Facebook's monetization programme, and the pennies they pay are quite valuable in India since they live in poverty.

Some horror creators are really taking the advantage of AI art, like this guy. I think all of his imagery is AI-generated. I dunno if he uses ChatGPT to write the story, hough.
Maybe you can't, zoomie.
You're underestimating how quickly this tech is progressing. Several years ago, when Dall-E 2 was just unveiled, it struggled generating hands correctly, but nowadays it doesn't have this problem.

You're overestimating how convincing content made by ai actually is. You can easily talk to an ai chat bot and give it a few trivial shit tests to determine if it's capable of higher reasoning or not. Maybe if you're a technically-illiterate zoomer or third worlder who isn't capable of decent conversation, these ai bots will feel like a big problem. Maybe if you stare at Youtube with your brain humming on autopilot, maybe you won't realize the various video essays are just regurgitating factoids with no personality or humanity.

Edit: also, we're not talking about current AI, we're talking about what's to come, it's pretty naive to look at the technological advancements and think that "yeah, we've reached peak AI, this is as good as it's gonna get".

No, the belief that human beings may become God is what's naive. Human beings are simply never going to invent a machine that is superior at being a human being. Fundamentally, entertainment is humans connecting with humans through human invention. There is no technological shortcut through this process, there's just mediocre ways to resemble (or more accurately, corrupt) that phenomenon.

You can absolutely create mediocre simulacrums that sort of resemble something a human being might create (such as your picture), and we can absolutely construct a giant fake and gay industry around it. Not only is this possible, it's been done. But all this will actually do is recreate the situation that already exists, where entertainment industries "are more profitable than ever" yet everyone's favorite entertainment media is something from fifteen to thirty years ago. I invite all the negraters to ask themselves honestly if they would appreciate ai generated music or art the same way they'd appreciate something a human being clearly put a lot of time, effort and heart into.

Don't ask me why I was looking up ostrich oil but I came across this gem.

My favorite part is this, where they have the visuals of clogged blood vessels during the part where apparently it improves heart functions and circulation.

I assume the rest of the channel is poorly researched(or maybe they plugged in a bunch of vague questions in chatGPT and called it a day) "health tips" that have AI generated visuals and audio.

-Humans will never be able to fly!

-Ok, but humans will never fly into space!
1729881560383.png

-Sure, but we will never be able to replace diseased organs!

Well, you get the idea.

I wouldn't say that "connecting with humans" is a key component of entertainment. E.g: you can entertain yourself by skipping stones and trying to beat your personal record.

Ok, how do you differentiate "real" entertainment from "fake and gay" entertainment, if we don't even need AI for it? Is Terminator 2 fake and gay?

How many zoomers/gen alpha do you know? I'm sure a lot of them would say that their favourite movie is Avengers, and favourite game - Roblox or Fortnite.

AI music - probably not, not yet, at least. But AI art - sure. Not as real art, but something more akin to memes, I've found lots of AI images quite amusing.

The second example you gave seems to be some shitty photoshopped image. Videos with those overexaggerated thumbnails have existed long before AI.
Also yeah I agree this trend honestly sucks. None of these videos are good, they all just seem like slop made by the next generation of bums and grifters. I used to like AI because it would only get rid of the shitty artists that do stupid shit like make the same UI design for 9999 websites and apps, or make uninspired clip art. In addition, I thought that it would enable those who had no skills to express ideas they had, albeit in a pretty low quality way. However, it feels like every high quality creator left, and the ones that remained just produced bland generic slop. I am not even sure if this problem is even caused by AI anymore, as its use just seems like a symptom of the rapidly declining quality of entertainment and art.

Im alright with AI as a tool but you have to put in personality into it like if I have an AI voice over I wouldn't do it with text to speech but use my voice to actually say something creative rather than script generative. Its like using a gun to solve your problems. If we did that we all would be like Judge Holden.
