Alaska wants to end Daylight Savings time - again

Reason to post this video again. But honestly in my part of the country they tried to get rid of it twice when I was growing up and people actually kind of understand why. You know.. so you have more light. 3-4pm on a winter's day is literally too dark for kids to come back home, and going to school in pitch darkness was a nightmare I only wanted to experienced once.

Losing/Gaining one hour a day isn't much, but losing an hour of light or being awake at 9pm and still seeing the sun is also piss.

I can see that in Alaska too so it's not as dumb as I thought it was. That was mostly a friend and I sperging over time zone confusion.

DST is ugly and I would not have sex with it.

So send kids to school when it's light out and then bring them home while it's still light out. Why does the time have to change for every single person?

I think GMT should just be the standard worldwide so no matter where someone is, if they say "let's have a conference call at whenever" everyone knows what time it is.

We should skip the formalities and officially change Alaska from a state into a giant mental asylum. Everyone living there or who wants to live there of their own volition is batshit insane anyway, so let's just send all the loons to Alaska so we don't have to deal with them anymore. We don't even have to change the flag. Just make Guam a state and we're good to go.

Arizona (except Navajo Nation) doesn't observe daylight savings time, and people actually quite like it that way. Or at least they care enough that when some state legislator proposed going on DST earlier this year, he was inundated with complaints.

I think Daylight savings time is stupid anyway. Were I live, in the winter it gets dark at 5pm and the summer it gets dark at 9:30pm.
