Yeah, I know.
I guess I just want to explain the reasons for my autistic sperging for the past 2 months and to clear up a few things.

I’m a car enthusiast, I’ve been a lifelong motorsports fan and its something I’m passionate about, I don’t go around sperging about it to randos, It is something which a big part of me, but its not all I care about. History, movies, philosophy and such are other passions.
Up until endgame I was invested in the MCU but after that I've checked out. Even then I only watched what I wanted to. And if I was to watch an MCU movie, that would be the case. I'm also invested in star wars. I don't have Disney+. I don't watch the new stuff. I don't know if doing so makes me a consoomer.

All this talk of people using the things they like as a substitute for a personality. All this talk about consoomers.
The consoomer thread. People being invested in franchises. People having an issue with sports fans.

Am I an issue? Am I a problem? Many people are car enthusiasts, and there is a worldwide community around that. Why is it that a bad thing? Why can't I identify with that?

I had friends who I used to talk to about the MCU or star wars, and as far as I know, they are still invested in it. So with all the talk of consoomers I'm getting worried if I am one or if my friends are. I go to the local football matches and the person who takes me there is a Leeds United fan, they like to keep up with the results of Leeds on MOTD. Is he a problem?

I know this is a stupid site to gossip about stupid people but I just want to understand whats the problem. Who is being talked about here? It's like stuff I found normal I'm now questioning.

The consoomer thread has stuff I don't think is bad or consooming. I don't think owning stuff makes you a consoomer, we all decorate our houses with our interests. Its the mindset, the "you know it when you see it". Now sure, I'd say a lot of stuff in there makes me cringe, but if it isn't of one IP and you have a variety of different IPs or interests around the room, I don't care. I don't know if disagreeing with people on consooming makes me a consoomer.

But why does this all matter if these people have other hobbies and interests outside of just MCU/pop culture. Like, say someone like Eric July. The guys passionate about comic books and the MCU but he's a functioning adult, despite comic books seemingly being his primary interest. He isn't going "OH MY LORD MCU AHHH" he just enjoys it. Why is that an issue? I have no issue with these people.

Roger Ebert made movies his life did he not? Pewdiepie got famous for playing games did he not? Why is that a problem if they are functioning adults?
What if someone made videos on their interest or streamed and got successful and was able to make it their career? Why is that bad?

Jeremy Clarkson's entire life is devoted to cars. Car enthusiasts have sentimental attachments to their cars. Are they consoomers? Are they without personality or gay or pathetic?

Then you have the consoomer thread where people look down on having toys and stuff, rooms dedicated to it. That was the whole point of @Ladybird Special to simulate someone looking down on that. To the guys in the transformers thread, does that not worry you that you are doing something, some people here think doesn't make you grown up? That you'll be told you suffer from arrested development or peter pan syndrome or in a perpetual adolescence? That some will say you guys are consoomers?

You have MCU/ Star wars/Star Trek fans here with people who think that stuff is for kids and only manchildren or losers watch it as adults. How? Does that not make you question yourself on whether or not you are a manchild?

At the same time those fans are disgusted at consoomers yet they are fans of the same thing?
People here go to conventions but say anyone who's invested in that is using it as a substitutie for a personality?

I guess I just want to apologize for everything I've done here. I want to fix the mess I've made here.
@Pissmaster I'm sorry about the thread where I called you out. I just had an operation and was in pain, frustrated I wasn't getting answers here. I shouldn't have made it. I disagree with your views, but you are entitled to your opinion. I also apologize to @whitepumpkin @Lensherr @Gar For Archer. @Lensherr I know you like the MCU and star wars, and I know you agreed with me in our consoomer conversation when I was @Minx95. I just want to ask if you could repeat what I said because I forgot what we agreed on. I'm just still confused why you talk about the MCU, then make an entire thread where you post about two videos on people who either despise it, or want it replaced.

To the consoomer thread @Hoi Polloi @glass_houses @Vingle @Sleazy Car Salesman, I apologize for derailing. I know I've been a pain, and I didn't read the room, but its something that I need answers or some advice on. I guess I wish there was a thread for showing good examples for reference so I know. Thats why I made this, so I could see what people thought was fine.

Its hard to gauge whats "normal" to people when they only point at whats consoomer tier.

Finally I'd like to thank @NoReturn @make_it_so @Doctor Placebo and others. @NoReturn especially for helping me see my errors and explaining that consooming is based on subjective standards as well as understanding my situation. I need to work on just ignoring opinions i disagree with, or not letting them bother me. I mean if something is seen as consooming and i disagree then in their eyes im a consoomer? @Gar For Archer disagreed on a room in the consoomer thread and the other guy said if you had a room like that, your parents failed. How does that not bother him?

Thats what I need to work on and I thank @NoReturn and @Gar For Archer for pointing that out.

I wasn't in the right mind mentally before this, I have people concerned for me and all this has kinda made it all worse. I need to stress that this is the first time I've done something like this, and its something I don't want to do ever again. Before people ask, yes I have counseling and of the like. They know about this. No, I didn't go on it just because of this. I was already on that stuff beforehand.

I just want to ask that I don't get banned for socking. I want to have a discussion with people, and explain more. I understand this site isn't a monolith. It has different views. I just want to say that I'm sorry and that I hope I've explained everything. I know this is a long sperg, but I need to get it off my chest and felt I needed to just state straight up what my problems were so I can actually move on with life.

TLDR, I'm new to this type of site and don't get where people come from when having issues about liking stuff.
I'm someone who's vehemently for leaving people alone if it isn't my problem or they aren't damaging themselves or others.
I can get having a few laughs on lolcows, I don't get why you'd have an issue with something literally everyone does.

Pretty much everyone likes sports to some extent. Pretty much everyone is into a franchise. What's the issue in that?

You've clearly got some sort of hang ups with understanding why someone wouldn't like something and pestering said people isn't going to help you. It's just going to annoy them and push them away.

But what if their right?

I'm still young, I'm still learning how to be an adult.
Everything I'm concerned with matters to me because of that and the fact I like MCU, Star wars and motorsport.

So when people say that its pathetic and gay to attach yourself to sport, when people say that a room of X is consooming, when people say that people who are fans of X are consooming manchildren it makes me question whether I should be doing it.

They may be random people on the internet, but what if their are really right?

This is the only place I can go for these answers, the people helping me have stated its a "banned" site.

The reason I ask you all is because I never have seen anyone have these takes.
I always thought people had one interest above all else, one that dominated their life, well rounded or not.

I've never seen people have an issue with people decorating their room with stuff they like. Now its consooming.

How do I take what ive learnt here and adapt it to elsewhere?
