Being disingenuous and arguing in bad faith on both sides is granted. But also:
- Defending, omitting or minimizing problems on their side of the spectrum. Both sides are guilty of it. When you talk about pedophiles among priests, pastors and other religious and conservative figures - I agree, there are and it's awful. When they talk about pedophiles being LGBT activists - I agree, there are and it's awful. "But look at your guys" is not the appropriate answer.
- Inability to comprehend that other people don't share their values. I admit, I just skimmed through most of it but I found people threatening an atheist with God's wrath rather funny.
- Promoting and forcing one's lifestyle as the only way to happy and productive life. Haven't seen it from you, so kudos, but the left in general does it a lot. And your interlocutor telling you to get a husband and have many children because married with children works for them (hopefully they speak from experience).

me and my friends used to buy those candy cigarettes in 5th grade, until we got caught with them and all our parents grounded us. They didn't approve of the precedent

Middle schoolers are basically the most retarded creatures on the planet. The only way they can become not retarded is learning the hard way why huffing smarties and shit like that isn't a good idea.

They also shouldn't be allowed on the internet. I say this as someone who started using the internet in late elementary school.

Cheers to that, first video game I ever played was Wizard 101 when I first got the internet in like 3rd grade. Luckily I wasn’t getting messed up frequently using the internet because real life messed me up more.

I definitely saw shit I shouldn't have (I first saw hentai in 5th grade), but real life was much more fucked than anything I saw on the internet.

Plus I was pretty grossed out by sex and anything related to it so I was quick to hit the back button if I saw anything sex related.

I will say, hanging out in DBZ chatrooms and browsing geoshities sites when I had out-of-school suspension in 6th grade are fond memories. That and getting into retarded internet arguments with adults on Gundam forums (most of which have been defunct for 15+ years at this point).

Yeah learning about porn and hentai in middle school was probably the worst I knew about the internet until high school. Even then that stuff grossed me out so I avoided it.

Those who get caught up in it will never admit this, but politics as a whole is more about emotional outbursts and manipulation than reality. Calling balls and strikes in terms of "good" or "bad" faith is a fool's errand to begin with because no one who whines about that is an honest or rational actor themselves, and why should they be? Whether it's on account of rampant hypersubjectivity or self-interested grifting, there's no "faith" to be had in politics. No one involved has any material or emotional incentive to take a true overlooking view at reality when they could be profiting through the recitation of pre-programmed talking points or sperging out about their fee-fee being hurt; politics is the ultimate brain poison.
