I actually did, it's just that people here can't tell the difference between criticizing religious fundamentalism and all the harm it does and hating religion in general.

My parents actually weren't very religious, I just live in the Bible belt and know a shitton of people who had crazy fundie parents and hear the crazy shit our lawmakers advocate.

Religion by itself isn't the problem, the problem is when people go batshit crazy with it and use it as a vehicle to oppress and abuse others.

This is the last message I'm going to reply to but the main part of sex ed is, well, sex. The reason it exists is to teach teenagers what will happen to them, what they will feel, how to stay safe, and what happens when you don't do things safely. That's not some kind of super liberal idea of sex ed, that is literally the entire point of its existence. The problem with teens, because they're in puberty, they will not control themselves, and they don't know what they're doing. That's why the age of consent isn't when they reach puberty, it's around the point where puberty settles down so that they can think clearly and not make stupid decisions.
