A Mormon biblical scholar is fucking hilarious considering the book of mormon contradicts the bible in multiple places, following the advice of a heretic is probably a bad idea if you're a real Christian.

Mormons are untrustworthy when it comes to Mormonism as well, abandoning polygamy and the belief that blacks are demonic due to political pressure.

He doesn't let it contaminate his work and doesn't talk about it much. His work is good because he sticks to what there's evidence for. It's amazing how many popular ideas about Christianity are not actually from the bible.
He's a pretty big libtard on social issues which IDK if meshes with his personal Mormon beliefs but he doesn't force a progressive reading of the text when there is none. I think it helps him call out stuff that is culturally Christian (pro-life movement as example) but not biblical.
He only addressed being a Mormon when people called him on it and he used to be a translator for some kind of Mormon org but now isn't. I don't know if he even studied the BoM academically, he knows a lot about the OT and NT.

One time I saw Android raptor in public. I walked up to her to say hello, but as I got closer I realized that she had her hand down the back of her pants. I stopped and watched in curiosity as she pulled her hand out and her index finger was completely covered in sticky feces. She drew her hand to her nose and gave her finger a good long sniff. She seemed to really be enjoying it. Then she opened her mouth and started motioning her finger towards her tongue. It was at that moment I interrupted her and said, “Hi android raptor, how are you?” She flinched for a fraction of a second, startled and promptly put her hand into her pocket. She responded, “H-hi Bargain, I-I’m doing alright, how are you doing?” I told her I was doing well and I was headed to the local cafe. I asked her if she wanted to join me and she said, “N-no, that’s alright, m-maybe another time.” We said our farewells and parted. Ever since that day it seems Android raptor has become reluctant to talk to me.
