Because anime was way better than most american cartoons at the time and had more female characters in action series (Sailor Moon was one of my other gateway animus)

Nope, I broke up with a lot of my GFs because of their tastes. Among the culprits: latino music, telenovela/soap opera watching, Gilmore Girls obsession, and yeah, Sailor Moon.
I am not very picky once you look decent enough and generally like comfy longer relationships instead of one night stands, so in a few months they tend to get dysfunctional.
And I literally can't help myself from mocking them if they're into cute/girly/pop shit. Oh well. As long as I am having fun, I guess.
