I don't believe Max sells cards, he specifically talks in a few of his videos about the people who do (pack opening channels that go through thousands of packs on camera then resell all the cards they get) and has said he keeps all his cards. I think his income is from AdSense/merch, possibly passive income from investments he made when he was younger, and I'm pretty sure his girlfriend has a well-paying job.
