Anyone else notice that those creator recommended video suggestions are popping up too early on YouTube lately? - Not sure what to call them but it's annoying.

You know those frames you can click on at the end of some videos that act as suggestions from the creator? Been seeing them pop up like a minute or so too early lately and it blocks out some content the creator obviously wants the viewer to see.
Anyone else have the same problem/know what's going on?

That feature has been out for a while. Newer YouTube videos tend to work around that, and browser add-ons like Unhook for Firefox can disable "End Screen Cards."

The feature itself is old as shit. But the cards used to pop up at the end. Now they're popping up like two minutes early.

Yes, I've noticed since some days ago.

It is possible that at the evil headquarters of YouTube they determined that people usually click off videos before they completely finish, and so they may have decided to show those annotations a bit earlier, in order to catch the viewer before they go elsewhere (like the channel-unrelated videos on the right-side), ultimately & potentially benefitting the channel owner.

Just a theory. Probably Shaneequa came up with this innovative method, who knows. She got a promotion too.
