Anything you fine people are looking forward to in 2025? - From serious like new presidency to insignificant like being a quarter into 21st century.

What it says on the tin.
For me, personally, the following are things I can't wait for:
  1. Trump's presidency. I'm not in the camp that his rule will be as much of a gamechanger as some people think it will be, but the election results show a lot of potential for pendulum swinging back in the favor of relative normalcy. I hope rest of the world follows up in USA's steps in that regard.
  2. Showa American Story. China is one of the only ones left just making good games without having to follow any idiotic DEI quota. This game in particular struck a chord for me in several ways - Chinese devs making a game in an alternate universe where America becomes Japan's property despite having never visited either of these countries. They're making this game purely on stereotypes. The trailer was also just a fever dream. Of course I won't preorder it, because that's reserved for people with money to spend on shit they don't even know will be good, but I'm definitely interested in it.
  3. Some personal stuff. Looking forward to some stuff that I attended in previous years, but also hoping to get back on my feet, metaphorically speaking, and live a life i can be proud of and be happy with at the same time. It will take hard work, but so do all the things worth the effort.
  4. New developments in anything i even remotely follow. I wonder what impressive things will be created in the world of music production, if any big math problems are going to be solved or if some indie title pops up that follows the older school of thought of just making good games. Perhaps some lost media that we never thought we'll see becomes unearthed, like the Subways of Your Mind this year.
It's fun to think about what could happen, and end of the year is the prime time for it.

Hopefully 2025 sees the start of the end of Current Year. It's been dragging on for around a decade now.

The heat death of the universe...
If a space the size of the observable universe got a new water molecule popping into it every time a year passed since the Big Bang, there'd currently be a rather microscopic drop of water floating in the void now (13.8 billion molecules of water isn't much). By the time heat death happens (around the year googol), that entire observable universe-sized void would be more or less full of water: a spherical ocean around 100 billion light years across, or around 1*10^100 molecules of water.

(if the math checks out)

Finding out which country or countries are using those drones in New Jersey to plan their invasion.

Big Tech has been pulling all the stops to get their AI products out the door before the year ends, so I'm really looking forward the kind of advancements AI will make these next 12 months. Can't wait for when Gemini allows for on-the-fly audio voice generation.
