Imagine simping for literally the most unfriendly dinosaur tech company. Apple hasn't had an original thought ever since Jobs' nutjob ass keeled over.
Their marketing department pretty much killed an entire generation of smart phone innovation in favor of the endless black rectangle and I hate all of you idiots who subsidize this glorified vanity brand pretending to be a tech company.
 
Who gives a shit? Smartphones already reached their peak and there hasn't been any significant form of "innovation" since the late 2010s. If anything, we advanced backwards because that big fancy iPhone you spent several paychecks on this year will conveniently slow down or find some way to break itself right around the time the next model comes out. You're literally better off getting a piece of shit budget phone from your grocery store. Sure, it'll game like shit but it'll be built like a brick shithouse with more features than you would get on flagships.

He has a girlfriend, and she of course decides she has to have an Iphone due to her...condition. She then proceeds to get insecure about the fact her and her partner aren't using the same brand and starts nagging him trying to get him to switch over, and eventually he gives in and does it. He then gets insecure about the fact he caved in (since he knows apple is mainly for low IQ darkies and thots) and then tries to get you to switch over to make himself feel less emasculated.

It becomes like this corporation -> woman -> man -> group pathogen. Apple should be stomped out.

I love my budget motorola, it can run youtube and take calls and text. Literally all I need it for, plus, and you iFags will get a kick out of this, I can insert an SDCard for even more memory, so i can put all of my songs on there too. But hey they have Apple Music, so they can listen to millions of songs (for a monthly fee) so what do i know.

Yeah, there's zero chance of me ever owning a device that can't accept external storage. I also have pretty robust audio setups in my home and car that I slot my E90 into whenever I want to vibe in better quality. Bluetooth is fucking trash compared to wired audio.

I have a vast collection of mp3 albums, totaling many thousand tracks, and no device will ever have enough internal storage to house them. Streaming media is for cucks who are willing to own nothing. Wireless headphones are for people who don't care about throwing out and rebuying the same shit every couple of years. I have deep seated hatred for both trends in current tech.

My fucking E90 from 2008 is categorically a better music player than any current year slop, and that's not really me saying the E90 is just that great; Smartphones today just suck that hard.

Same here. My phone has been going strong for a few years now, and I've genuinely run into very little issues with it. I put NewPipe and VLC onto it so that I could watch or listen to whatever I want without any of these bullshit subscriptions. I even put a 256 GB SD card into it to hold a massive library of music and movies and it has served me extremely well as both a phone and an MP3/FLAC player.

The only thing I miss from my previous phone is the fact I could pop the back off and replace the battery, which I personally believe extended that thing's lifespan by several extra years because I actually had to replace it at some point when it decided to balloon the fuck up. If my current phone had that, I won't have a need to replace it for a very long time.

I don't think so, the 20s is all about the most bang for your buck. Way fewer people are buying a new phone every year and every phone company is announcing longer and longer "service dates"

Like I couldn't download a current version of slack or any app for my 6 year old phone essential meaning it's fucked if I want to use it for like uber or a lot of other apps

Meanwhile every new phone has all but a guarantee to last a decade, at least in terms of updates.

Apple despite their reputation is always ahead of the curb on long lasting devices. Much like how they seem to be the only ones that give a fuck about laptops, they're the only ones that understand the concept of a resell market or even have one really. No ones buying a used Alienware.

It's a big reason people could afford a new phone or the new macs every year, resell your old one and suddenly the $999 iPhone becomes a $499 one. They were also the first to be big on transfering stuff easily and on cloud storage.

Nonsense. Modern iPhones have so many amazing features that it’s almost impossible to keep track of them all. iPhones (peace be upon them) are extraordinarily durable and phenomenally reliable electronic devices.

I have yet to see a phone that offers "more bang for your buck" which offers something that you can genuinely tell the difference from like an OLED screen, more internal memory, a USB-C port (thank fucking god), or better battery life.

This is primarily the fault of the app maintainers and I strongly suspect most applications that don't support older devices would happily run on the hardware but simply don't due to software related shenanigans.

While true, with Android official updates can then be followed by unofficial, community-maintained updates/distributions with the use of custom ROMs for additional years to come since Android itself is open source. A mobile device doesn't need to be constantly updated to function for day-to-day tasks, though use cases may vary by the apps used in question. This isn't possible with iOS or iPadOS devices as those are heavily locked the fuck down and the source code for them is simply unavailable.

I would beg to differ massively on this.

A product cannot and should not be considered long-lasting if the person buying it cannot take it in to be serviced/repaired/updated by someone without either being charged up the ass or end up with a compromised experience due to intentional repair-hostile designs by Apple in their products. You can't even replace the SSD in your laptop to upgrade it (since they apparently solder that shit in, what the fuck) or replace the battery in your iPhone in the event it fucks up (they have software-side DRM in place which intentionally disables features or slows the whole fucking phone down if it detects an otherwise perfectly functional part that so happens to not have matching serial numbers).

I would argue that the title of long-lasting devices belongs to the Android and Windows/Linux scenes in this regard because up until recently many of those devices had user-replaceable batteries and parts that were easy to get to. Apple isn't ahead of the curve in regards to "long-lasting devices", they're reshaping it to undermine consumer rights for extra profits, and other manufacturers follow this trend to seem more like Apple.

Much like how they seem to be the only ones that give a fuck about laptops, they're the only ones that understand the concept of a resell market or even have one really. No ones buying a used Alienware.

People buy MacBooks because they are admittedly great devices for professional uses like video editing and also casual uses like balancing checkbooks or browsing Facebook with very good battery life (especially since they switched over to a much more efficient CPU architecture a few years back). Even if they do care about the resell market, they actively undermine it with anti-repair design decisions all the time.

If someone wants to have something to game on the go, there are a lot better options than used gaming laptops such as the Steam Deck, more recent gaming laptops, or even the Framework laptop (for the extra autistic).
