Get the rope Macaulay!:
I don't think so, the 20s is all about the most bang for your buck. Way fewer people are buying a new phone every year and every phone company is announcing longer and longer "service dates"
Like I couldn't download a current version of slack or any app for my 6 year old phone essential meaning it's fucked if I want to use it for like uber or a lot of other apps
Meanwhile every new phone has all but a guarantee to last a decade, at least in terms of updates.
Apple despite their reputation is always ahead of the curb on long lasting devices. Much like how they seem to be the only ones that give a fuck about laptops, they're the only ones that understand the concept of a resell market or even have one really. No ones buying a used Alienware.
It's a big reason people could afford a new phone or the new macs every year, resell your old one and suddenly the $999 iPhone becomes a $499 one. They were also the first to be big on transfering stuff easily and on cloud storage.
Even the great kiwifarms agrees apple laptops are better than most of them and way cheaper than any "build your own laptop" scheme.
And if you aren't a gamer then an apple would be your laptop of choice which is where you start your journey in the walled garden. Now you're suddenly ready to pick a phone and having the ability to see your text messages on your Mac is a sweet ability, same with being able to instantly see your posts or videos
Then you factor in shit like face time or the difference in how texts work and it's even easier to want to join Mac
Beyond that you have the younger generation who grew up on iPad, so they got into the walled garden even younger
Plus as bad as Mac users are. They actually use the fun unique shit on their hardware more than everyone on Samsung,Google, etc combined.
Another fun thing about apple is that it's extremely common in the US but it's a legit status symbol everywhere else, so women are probably buying into how much better it is. Even the chinks look down on their own shit compared to Tim Apples products.
