My dear fellow gentlemen, allow me to introduce to you the true theory of disease. The so-called germ theory that has been propagated by some misguided physicians and scientists is simply not grounded in reality. It is clear that miasma theory, which posits that diseases are spread through bad air, is the only rational explanation for the outbreaks of illnesses that we have witnessed.
For example, when London suffered from a terrible cholera outbreak in 1854, we knew that it must be the result of the foul air that emanated from the Thames River. This was backed up by the fact that those who lived in areas that had been exposed to the polluted air were more likely to become sick. It is no coincidence that the epidemic did not occur in areas that were well-ventilated and had good air quality.
Similarly, the spread of tuberculosis is clearly due to miasma, as those who live in close quarters with others are more likely to contract the disease. We have also observed that the illness is passed down from generation to generation, confirming the theory that it is caused by bad air.
And while it is true that some illnesses can be transmitted from person to person, this does not negate the fact that miasma is the root cause.
Ultimately, it is clear that miasma theory is the superior explanation for the outbreak of disease, and those who continue to prop up the so-called germ theory are simply in denial of reality.
