Are tech and IT people more likely to join cults than the general population?

Social isolation and membership of a group that already espouses in group/out group thinking, punishes wrong think, and holds themselves as a separate "elite" with knowledge not widely held by outsiders in society, and with a tendency to reward group think means they are already desensitized to the sorts of behaviors that would make an average person wary of "cult like" behavior, so yes, I can see how certain members of tech communities could be more susceptible to being drawn into a cult, such as the transgender Cult of Slaanesh's infiltration and infestation of tech has shown.

I think people on Kiwi vastly overestimate the amount of troons in tech. There are very vocal tech faggots in SF, but overall? You're just not likely to encounter one in your day to day life. In ten years I think I've come across maybe one and it was clear he was gaming the system because he was completely incompetent.

Troons crave power, you just don't find them outside of the tech giants very much.

Heaven’s Gate had a lot of their members in tech. To the point where they pushed members into it and started recruiting in that area. They funded their shit by offering services to build websites and what not in the 90’s.
I think the two remaining members still work in tech who keep the Heaven’s Gate website up.

A lot of tech people seem to have the problem of thinking themselves as brilliant and having low impulse control. Delayed Gratification is effectively an unspoken religious tenet for a lot of people, a moral life leads to happiness after death.

Tech tends to attract 4 spheres of people now: Normies, autists, Libertarians, and Deranged perverts that make even the weirdest German blush.

Joining a cult nowadays just seems like unnecessary hard work. If Liz Fong-Jones and Keffals taught us anything, it’s that in situations like this, I would much rather pull a Woody Allen in Annie Hall regarding cult worship in the IT sphere:

You're correct, although to be fair he did just say trannies are the most glaring example.

I guess it depends on what a person considers cultism, but I think tech definitely encourages NPC-like thinking, for lack of a better term. They might not be trannies, but they're part of the wider progressive cult who worships being "on the right side of history".

Didn't Woody Allen cheat on Mia Farrow with his underage step daughter?

I don't think Transformers are in a cult. The IT nerds are more likely to be autistic or incels, and that may lead to imagining you are really a woman.

In this case, I can imagine the trans individuals would relate to Wokdy in the sense that they would screw over their family over Internet clout, while also wanting to work for Google for some reason.

Tech start-ups often operate like cults so they can keep their young, hard-working employees working hard and not thinking of the outside world.

Tech workers that start 'cults' (or Collared Discord servers) are probably just copying their bosses.

Why is Woody Allen appropriating a Groucho Marx quote.

Also, cults generally go after the socially isolated, so terminally online losers gets gobbled up when a hedonistic group makes them feel special. When they reach a terminal mass they start using their power to force membership or get blackmail on people, when they can't force membership or blackmail they go the route of harassment and ostracization before going to violence.
The current LGBTQPedos seem to really be flexing their funding and basically have broad as hell characterizations to attract people in and then have them get deeper and deeper into the shit.

Whole lotta people in tech are autists, and autists are more likely to be trannies than the general population by several orders of magnitude.
