didn't it end up being a cherry pie?It’s baaaaaaaaack…….
First, it was about abortions. Then, it was about becoming a lesbian and homophobia. And now, in its final chapter……it’s a JFK assassination.

Boooooooo! Commit to your shit!didn't it end up being a cherry pie?
edit: went to check and I was sort of right - it ended up being cherry jam. specifically to feed into (heh) the artist's fetish for things being licked off of faces.

That wasn't actually a bad webcomic, but wow. I'd wondered what he'd got up to but considering the dude was obviously a lunatic, trooning out is not surprising, just depressingly predictable in retrospect.I don't know if there is anywhere else more relevant I should be posting this but all the other threads about 'Pictures for Sad Children' are positively ancient, which makes sense considering how ancient all that drama is.
I've got to be honest, I never really liked Pictures for Sad Children, it felt like the nadir of the internet tendency to confuse dour depression with somehow being deep, and I can't even think of any strips I would call actually funny. That wasn't actually a bad webcomic, but wow. Anyway, some website posted a long article with the guy who made the comic who finally came out of the woodwork, the article is absurdly cloying and gives no pushback despite the ridiculous shit he got up to, most of which is not mentioned and of course go out of their way to justify the notorious kickstarter book burning as much as possible, but guess what! Yep, it turns out the schizo, depressed, insane webcomic artist shut in who alienated almost everybody he ever encountered trooned out and is actually a woman named 'Simone Veil'!

It felt like the ultimate goon comic in having a minimalist (some might even say lazy) artstyle that focused on being a depressed loser and thinking that somehow made you a better class of person than the normies, and saying you liked it because all the other depressed losers in the forum you frequented also liked it and swore up and down it was an insightful window into modern society and not just the product of a dime a dozen internet sad brain with one joke.
Aaron Diaz of Dresden Codak fame has also trooned out and now calls himself ‘Arryn’. Not very surprising as he made is waifu a lesbo. It seems making webcomics is an indication of future trooning.I don't know if there is anywhere else more relevant I should be posting this but all the other threads about 'Pictures for Sad Children' are positively ancient, which makes sense considering how ancient all that drama is.

And of course being a true and honest woman has skyrocketed him up the progressive stack and made everything completely acceptable.

This webcomic made it okay to be sad online. Then its artist vanished.
The author of 'Pictures for Sad Children' went AWOL after a 2014 Kickstarter drama. In an exclusive interview, she explains why.www.inputmag.com
I don't pay too much attention to Dresden Codak beyond noting that there's a ridiculous dichotomy between the quality of the art and the story, but its kind of funny because the main character was frequently criticized before all this for clearly being Diaz's perfect sex object waifu, an awkward Asian girl who doesn't understand regular human interaction and only cares about nerdy stuff like sciences, while also being improbably, ridiculously hot and frequently drawn in a way that was super sexualized, often in pretty inappropriate contexts, with an undercurrent of weird cyberpunk, amputee fetishes in some panels. Its really not surprising that he would surrender to his AGP eventually and try to become his own waifu.Aaron Diaz of Dresden Codak fame has also trooned out and now calls himself ‘Arryn’. I could cope easily with these troons if it weren't for the incessant demands you submit to their perversions and pretend they're anything other than they are with their bullshit pronouns. No, you're a dude, the pronoun for you is "HE." Period. If I do use the wrong pronoun for you, it's a courtesy, not an obligation. Its really not surprising that he would surrender to his AGP eventually and try to become his own waifu.
No mention of Nemi? I think a few panels of the comic have made it into being stand alone memes so you may recognize the art even if you haven't read the comic before. Nemi is a Norwegian comic by a woman named Lise Myhre about a goth chick and her metalhead boyfriend. Every character is a embarassing cliche and the humor is firmly stuck in early 00s Monkeycheese territory. Nemi the titular character has about 3 points to her personality:
-She like chocolate
-She hate other women
-She like metal
These three things are brought up so frequently that I can think of no other reason for lasting so long other than "OMG you like metal? I like metal too!".

I find Nemi to be a fairly fun character. I will admit I haven't followed the comic for years but used to read it and I even own few books. Nemi is definitely product of early 2000s but still fun. Her main points as a character is that she is into metal, darkness and cynicism, but at same time she is very childish, emotional and romantic. The first stuff is more what she wants to be, cool and in control, and second side is what gets her excited, both clashing with each other and everyday adult life. It's perfectly fine place to do strip comics and short stories witch is what Nemi comics are. Also Nemi doesn't hate other women, she wants to be cooler than the normies and so often thinks that she knows better than them, men or women. No mention of Nemi?
