Dylan Cease was 3 outs away from his 2nd no-hitter and the 2nd no-hitter in Blue Jays history. Stieb'd once again

The draft started about an hour ago and there have been 7 selections so far. The top three picks were:
  • White Sox, shortstop: Roch Cholowsky
  • Rays, shortstop: Grady Emerson
  • Twins, catcher: Vahn Lackey
Lackey's teammate from Georgia Tech, Drew Burress, an outfielder, just went 8th to the A's.

We're officially at the All-Star Break. A chance for teams to reflect on how their season has gone, good or bad, and to prepare for the trade deadline on August 3rd.
The obvious big move that everyone anticipates is the Dodgers trading for Skubal, but my gut feeling says another team will end up getting him.

My picks for the major awards at this point in the season; no real surprises here I don't think:
NL MVP - Shohei Ohtani (Dodgers)
NL Cy Young - Jacob Misiorowski (Brewers)
NL Rookie of the Year - JJ Wetherholt (Cardinals)
NL Manager of the Year - Don Mattingly (Phillies)

AL MVP - Yordan Alvarez (Astros)
AL Cy Young - Cam Schlittler (Yankees)
AL Rookie of the Year - Kevin McGonigle (Tigers)
AL Manager of the Year - Will Venable (White Sox)

AL Cy Young - Cam Schlittler (Yankees)
I'm definitely biased as a Jays fan but I think Dylan Cease has a shot for it. Leads the AL in fWAR (despite having less starts), xERA, FIP, xFIP, Ks and a few other stats that he beats Schlittler in. Things will probably change during the second half of the season, either in favor of Schlittler or Cease, but I'm inclined to say that I think Cease will come out on top because of his underlying stats and stuff.
Also Miz is absolutely winning NL CY and anyone who says that C. Sanchez has a shot at it is either biased as fuck or coping (usually both)

I am happy my Cubs went into the All-Star break with a winning streak, even if it's only two wins.
Great bit on Bregman's part to finally get hot just before the break lmfao. We're on pace for 88 wins (compared to 92 last season), which is surprisingly good considering our fucked up pitching rotation and revolving door of an IR. That 10-game losing streak is gonna bite us in the ass.

Great thing about baseball is you could have a 10.game.winning streak out of nowhere the seasons that long

Considering the Cubs have already had two of those in the first half of the season, there's still hope for another. That, and the Brewers suddenly decided to shit the bed. The ASB may be the reset they need to get off the schneid though.

Something about playing in Pittsburgh right before the All-Star break just... I mean, a few years ago they closed out the first half of the season by getting swept in a 5 game series at the Pirates and it fucked the rest of their season.

Are the Mets going to have a fire sale?

Can they even have a fire sale if nobody wants to trade with them?

NOPE. Most of these players suck, and the ones that don't are saddled with ludicrous contracts. The Mets will be too cheap to retain salary. We have great young rookies but no point in moving them. Add on top of that Stearns trying to cover his ass with the bums he brought in and basically nobody is moving.

I believe the Mets AT MOST will move 2 players. A pitcher and maybe Alvarez, that's it

Most of this laughably bad roster will be back next year. Bully the shit out of them with your gambling, sports fans
