In typical Braves fashion, Morton is out for the rest of the year with a fibula fracture.

Yeah this is gonna be rough. If we're lucky Fried and Anderson win game 2 and 3, and we can luck sack our way through games 4 and possibly 5. I just don't look forward to Snitker throwing either of them out on short rest.

In PETA's latest attempt to go full exceptional individual, they're demanding that the term "bullpen" be changed because it's offensive to cows:

And to think PETA did something right about the "BeagleGate" then I mentionned in the coronavirus thread.... old habits die hard. Sorry PETA but we still use "bullpen" so FY!

As a Phillies fan I have to root for the braves, because they knocked us out, we look better if they win... that's how it works right?

Honestly, so far first 2 games big swings, one team really running the other, game 3 what a hot pitching game and great throwing on the braves! I'm enjoying this WS more than I expected. I really thought the Braves were low on gas and the Astros were gonna......turf em.

Trump was at Game 4 and did the tomahawk chop.

Karma's a bitch, isn't Manfred?

Not sure if anyone heard, but long time Red Sox colour commentator Jerry Remy passed away last night from cancer. He would have turned 69 on the 8th of November. He retired as a player with the team in 1984 and had been broadcasting with them since 1988. He threw out the first pitch back on the 5th of October before Boston defeated the Yankees in the AL Wild Card Game.

Snit has done an absolute dogshit job at managing this game tonight. He's keeping pitchers in too long and no pinch hitting in situations that call for it. Also intentionally walking an ice cold Bregman is leaving me totally flabbergasted.

And it's over. Braves are the champions.

The legend of Chipper Jones lives on.

Congrats to the Atlanta Braves and all Braves fans on this thread.

Well on the first day of the offseason we've got some pretty huge new: Buster Posey is apparently going to be announcing his retirement tomorrow. He doesn't turn 35 until a couple of days before Opening Day, and he's coming off a fantastic season after sitting out 2020 due to Covid. Personally I think he's a Hall of Famer, but this might hurt his chances a little. If this really is the end he's going to finish with exactly 1500 hits, a career OPS+ of 129, and a career .302 batting average in just under 1400 games.

I think Buster is a lock. First ballot, who knows because the baseball writers have become absolute chuckle fucks when it comes to who makes the HOF on first ballot.

Just the fact that he's one of six catchers ever to register a batting average over .300 with a minimum of 1000 plate appearances should be enough.
