I guess we could play "Celebration" and the vlog then I mentioned earlier aged like milk,The MLB and MLBPA have reached a deal. Opening Day has been announced for April 7th. Spring Training games are planned to start around March 18th.
God, I'm so sick of increased playoffsWE HAVE A DEAL!!! New CBA pending ratification by both sides, raises minimum salaries, ups the luxury tax, universal DH (booo) 12 team post season(meh) also a new draft lottery and pre arbitration bonus pool to stop service time shenanigans.
mehWE HAVE A DEAL!!! New CBA pending ratification by both sides, raises minimum salaries
meh, if it's not a hard salary cap it's always going to be circumvented by "certain teams"ups the luxury tax
I'm out. I don't care what anyone thinks, the DH is not baseball. And spare me the whining about how pitchers are too stupid to learn how to hit or whatever.universal DH (booo)
There were already too many teams qualifying for the "postseason" (Tip: if you have to play a play-in game, you ain't in the postseason yet.)12 team post season(meh)
This should have been a worldwide draft, but noooooooalso a new draft lottery and pre arbitration bonus pool to stop service time shenanigans.
You had 50 years to get over it grandpa. Personally I don't care one way or another, I just think it was stupid the leagues had different rules on it, I'm glad it's at least unified.I'm out. I don't care what anyone thinks, the DH is not baseball. And spare me the whining about how pitchers are too stupid to learn how to hit or whatever.
PADRES’ STAR FERNANDO TATIS JR. SUGGESTS HE CRASHED HIS MOTORCYCLE MULTIPLE TIMES THIS PAST OFFSEASONFernando Tatis Jr. is out for up to three months with a fractured wrist that might require surgery.
The $340 million dollar man was asked this morning whether a motorcycle accident was the cause of this injury.
“Which one?” Tatis responded. Oh boy.
...
It appears Tatis Jr. wasn’t prepared for this question since the public was only made aware of one accident, which happened back in December of last year. This is not a good way to tell the public you hopped back on a motor bike when a franchise is relying on you to stay healthy after you already crashed once.
Of course no one knows exactly when he fractured his wrist, however we can take an educated guess that this latest accident did him in. Players don’t just break their wrists around the house. Really sad to see one of the faces of baseball go down for such a stupid reason. Also doesn’t help that the rival Los Angeles Dodgers are expected to land star first baseball Freddie Freeman in the coming days. Bad news all around for Padres fans and fans of the sport as a whole.
Sign Nolan Arenado, trade him for peanuts.Oakland continued the teardown and traded Matt Chapman to Toronto for four prospects: infielder Kevin Smith, starting pitcher Gunnar Hoglund (Toronto's first round draft pick last summer,) and relievers Kirby Snead and Zach Logue.
The Rockies made a huge signing: Kris Bryant is heading to Colorado on an seven year, $182 million deal.
Jesus Christ this is unreal. The last 3 years of Braves baseball must feel like fanfiction.Looks like Freddie Freeman is indeed going to the Dodgers. Six years for $160 million. By comparison the extension Atlanta gave Matt Olson is for $168 million over eight seasons.
That doesn't bode well for the Dodgers, but I do hope Freddie can buck the trend and still play at a high level. Unless he's playing the Braves, then I hope he strikes out every at-bat.Recent six-plus year contracts for free agents at the position haven’t been particularly fruitful. Each of the past four deals of six-plus years for first basemen — the Padres’ eight-year Eric Hosmer agreement, the Orioles’ bringing back Chris Davis on a seven-year pact, Prince Fielder’s nine-year contract with the Tigers, and the Angels’ ten-year investment in Albert Pujols — turned out to be missteps for the club.
