Day one of Wild Card Weekend:

The Guardians defeated the Rays 2-1 in a tidy 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The Cardinals sauntered into the ninth inning with a two-run lead over the Phillies before getting their asses blown out for six runs and losing.

Luis Castillo was a stud as the Mariners shut out the Blue Jays.

Max Scherzer forgot how to Max Scherzer and gave up four bombs to the Padres.

I'm going to the Rays watch party tomorrow for game two. I don't care if I win any more signed merch or even if they win. Honestly losing and ending this torture would be preferable.

Outside of the Ramirez homer McLanahan pitched his ass off, and the offense had three hits. Randy Arozarena with four strikeouts. Fuck this line up. DFA them all and get some hitters or fire the hitting coach.

That was an extremely disappointing end to the season for the Blue Jays. They were unable to fix bullpen concerns and it cost them in the end. At least they still have a young core and will hopefully be back next year, as long as there are some minor improvements.

Pitcher Aroldis Chapman left off ALDS roster for the New York Yankees following a missed mandatory workout. Effectively ending his tenure as a Yankee, I'm sure he won't be missed giving up a homerun in a crucial moment.

How was your extended torture session?

I had a nice day in the sun at the pier drinking beer and being surrounded by fellow fans. The ending came as a relief. Like a loved one dying after a long battle with illness. At least its over and they aren't in pain anymore.

Maybe next year they can avoid the injury bug and some of the young guys like Randy/Wander can improve the holes in their game. Maybe fire the hitting coach and get an actual live bat in FA (LOL AS IF). But yeah I'm just glad they made post season.

Sucks the Cards' season had to end with such a wet fart. I thought for sure they were going to meme their way into the pennant again. The whole "last dance" narrative would have been great. Oh well, I guess that's baseball. At least Albert got to 700.
