Football season this year has been relatively uninteresting, save for a few stories. Baseball since the All Star break has been an exciting sport. This is the best postseason bracket I've seen in a long time and I have a feeling this World Series is gonna be a fuckin' slobber knocker.
 
Saw this in a Reddit post, apparently Pete would pretty much sign whatever people would ask for on a ball. This one is pretty damn funny.

Everybody is sucking Skubal's dick ( and rightly so) but man, the Tigers aren't very good against lefties. I feel like Framber is going to CARVE them this game.

Dude with <.200 batting average had the green light on 3-0 and got an RBI single! The Tigers are nuts.

I have a feeling that "I only bet on myself to win" was some official statement to make baseball not look as bad as it could. Or that's all he was willing to admit. You know he must have made sure they didn't beat the spread, or had some mafioso tell him to lose a game. Bart Giamatti took these details to the grave. Plus Pete banged a highschooler while he was 34 and married with kids.. You know there must be other dirty stuff. He's got the records, but the HOF is too clean for him.
 
Betting on yourself to win also just causes issues regardless, because there's always going to be days you're not doing that which is a bit of a tacit admission. You're incentivized to redline players on specific games you've bet on regardless of whether that's actually the best idea for your overall season result, which ultimately still flies in the face of the competitive ethos that drive sports. The reason this keeps him out as a player is because he was doing it while a player-manager, so the hall isn't willing to separate the two roles in this case.
 
What the hell happen with the Orioles? You have Corbin Burnes going Eight(!) innings with One(!) run, and you can't give him anything to work with offensively? You have your team get new owners, and the first thing they do is get an ace, something the O's desperately need especially for the playoffs. The ace then does almost exactly what you wanted him to do when you got him, short of giving up one run, and you do nothing with it. Every O's position player should be utterly EMBARISSED by what I just witnessed. Granted, Cole Ragans is a stud, but this was just ridiculous.

Thats only because Javier Baez is on IL. But then again they wouldn't be in the playoffs if he hadnt gotten injured.

They're probably going to get steam rolled by the Guardians but at least we won a series. Hopefully owner ship splurges in the offseason.

Fuck the Yankees too, because they have one of the most insufferable fanbases in sports. They’re mad because Ohtani didn’t sign with them and that’s why every single discussion regarding Ohtani’s feats has some Yankees faggot waltzing in to talk about Judge.

I hope that neither franchise wins another World Series for at least the next 100 years.

I've no stake in it at this point but it's still been worth listening to a few of the games. Brewers losing was a surprise this morning.
