Dumb mathball shit. The numbers say he might choke in X scenario so we gotta preemptively pull him. Some managers don't get the human element. Snell's body language and disappointment over seeing Cash come out to the mound said that he knew he could still pitch and that he was feeling confident, but the numbers say otherwise so let's bank on the uncertainty of putting a new guy in. Honestly the worst move of the whole series

I was watching with a bunch of Dodgers fans and they legit started cheering when they realized Snell was getting pulled. It's one of the worst decisions I've ever seen a manager make in the World Series, and you know it was 100% because of the analytics stuff about a pitcher going through the order for the 3rd time.

The whole story is fucking weird. Pulled him mid-game, why the fuck did it take that long to get the results in the first place? Then you put him in isolation and then just let him walk right back out to celebrate anyway? At least he was wearing a mask, hopefully that+he just won a title for Hollywood will calm down the mob a bit.

Regarding Cash's bonehead decision to remove Snell, I do remember after the game when they were celebrating Mookie Betts was being interviewed and was asked what he thought about Snell being removed especially as he had kept Betts in check twice before he was replaced. Mookie had a look on his face that was like "I can't believe they were dumb enough to do it" and his response was something to the effect of it being really surprising without outright saying that he thought that Cash really fucked up.
 
Do they still hit the ball with a stick and then run in circles?
 
Big time trade about to go down between Tampa Bay and San Diego.

To the Padres:
  • P - Blake Snell

To the Rays:
  • P - Luis Patino (#23 ranked prospect in the league per MLB.com, made MLB debut this season)
  • C - Francisco Mejia
  • P - Cole Wilcox (#7 ranked prospect in Padres system, 3rd round pick from this season)
  • C - Blake Hunt (#14 ranked prospect in Padres system, 2nd round pick in 2017)
At the the end of the 2020 season both teams had elite farm systems with the Rays ranked #1 already while the Padres weren't far behind at #3. The Rays now have six players ranked within the top 100 prospects, and three of them are within the top 25.
 
Hate to double post but this thread deserves a bump for this news I think. The Indians and Mets pulled off a massive trade today.

To the Mets:
  • SS - Francisco Lindor (will be arbitration eligible for this season, UFA in 2022)
  • SP - Carlos Carrasco (under contract until 2022 with a $14 million team option or $3 million buyout for 2023)
To the Indians:
  • SS - Ahmed Rosario (was considered a consensus league top 10 prospect as recently as 2017)
  • SS - Andres Gimenez (considered a league top 100 prospect as recently as last season)
  • SP - Josh Wolf (2nd round pick in 2019)
  • OF - Isaiah Greene (2nd round pick in 2020, was compared to Michael Brantley and Garrett Anderson by Baseball America)
