Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Now I'm thinking about a Yellowjacket that strips out the Gauss Rifle with an ELRM 20 because 38 hexes of attrition on a VTOL is just plain mean. Even if it only hits with 12 points of damage a turn, it adds up after a while.
I have a yellowjacket mini... that sounds like a great way to lose friends. I'll try it next week.

I have violated every law of both God and man to come up with a ELRM20 Yellow Jacket.

I am going to Hell for this one and I deserve it.

I know it comes in at 35 tons instead of 30, but compromises had to be made, and not just in my shallow morality, to make this evil machine a reality.

Bruh that thing is a huge ass glass cannon. A cricket could kill it.

It's supposed to be a stand-off weapon and stay at the edge of the battlefield pelting away with it's unholy 38 hex range weapon. If anything gets too close, just move somewhere or retreat or die gloriously for whichever flag the pilot serves under.

Looks at the Death Commandos.

My life for Aiur Sian!

Although if you swap the 20 out for a 15 you have three tons to spare, and a fusion will give you enough to stick an ERML and another half-ton of armor on. Not as retarded, but it fits within the 30 ton limit and you keep the Yellow Jacket's 6/9 mobility.

EDIT: Random aside, but I do love the updated fluff for things that explains why things appear to be inferior to modern-day systems. We'd struggle to cram everything a Guardian ECM system does into only a ton and a half, same with the BAP.

At that price, yes. However, please refer to my prior posts on the game: it's a resource hog and I strongly recommend having at least 16 gigs of memory.
And even then, the game suffers from massive memory leak issues that means you just might have to turn it off every two hours just so that it doesn't completely slow down on you. And this isn't even taking mods into account.

So i picked up the Eradani Light Horse Audiobook that was released I believe last week and within the first hour the guy is just mispronouncing things and then ontop of that gave Alexandr Kerenksy a generic old man voice.

Any examples of mispronunciations? How bad are we talking?

I'm only have way through but theres two so far. The first story has the guy pronounce Amaris as Amarees and in the 4th one the woman keeps pronouncing Lyran as Leeran.

How do you pronounce it? Its "lie-ran", right, like the lyre it was originally named after? Might be an accent issue considering some stretch that flat "i" sound into the high "ee".

As to Kerensky, he was 67 when the Amaris Civil War broke out, the liberation of Earth started 10 years later and took two years and an unimaginable body count, and he was eighty years old when he was stripped of the title of Protector by the Star Lords. I can imagine him being old and worn out by things to the point of his contingency plan being "I'm leaving".

Lyran I can see either way. Lyric comes from the same root as lyre, but we pronounce the first as leer-ic while the latter as lie-er.

As far as Alex K sounding like an old man, I get the emotionally worn out, but people in the Inner Sphere were living to be 150ish at the time of the Amaris Civil War, so he should have been barely middle age by the time that kicked off.

Don't forget Kerensky was also not in the best of health for his entire life so I assume he would sound rather frail. And a funny side note when Operation Klondike kicked of the majority of the clan leaders were old men or women some of those who had fought and bled during the entire Star LEague civil war. I mean Hazen who had played Highlander during the Eden uprisings was what in her mid-eighties at that point? Just shows you how far the medical knowledge has fallen in the IS

The Amaris one is weird but I'm not too fussed about Leeran, reminds me of Day-vion/Da-vion. The generic gruff voice is odd though since you'd think Kerensky being Russian would've been something the VA was told.

I always pronounced the words as Dav-yon (Davion), Leer-an (Lyran), Lie-ao (liao), Mare-ik (Marik), Kure-eet-a (Kurita), Am-are-is (Amaris), Av-e-yar Avellar), Sen-trell-a (Centrella), Sigh-an (Sian), and Ras-al-hague (Rasalhague).

Even if I didn't have issues with the politics of the current staff, I have a million metal minis and maps. There's just nothing I have to have in this, or any other, BT Kickstarter.
