Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

To briefly segue back into the discussion we had about the Canopian Catgirls and if they are real or not (and how debaucherous Canopus is), apparently, we are not the first ones to ask that question. Here's a thread from r/Battletech dating from five years ago as of this post asking that very question.

Final answer is yes, and there are probably even fully biological examples. To quote one comment:
Found it:

A Time of War: Companion, p. 53, "Mutation Trait Example Table", sixth entry, "functional tail and mobile ears".

Biological cat-girls (and potentially other furries), canonical in BattleTech.

Edit: And same book, p. 188-189. A canonical illustration depicting Canopian performers including a bio-mecanical mermaid and catgirl.

Someone even posted an image (somewhat NSFW) showing said bio-mechanical Catgirls from one of the sourcebooks.

Another comment notes:
Based on the text from "The Periphery", p. 40, there exist at least bioengineered mermaids [EDIT] and centaurs, so not entirely cybernetic cosplay cat-girls may also exist. Given it looks like this wardrobe room is filled entirely with bionic prosthesis it doesn't seem impossible that later or cheaper acts use bionic prosthesis while earlier, more elaborate, or more expensive acts have genetically engineered hybrids.

It could also be argued that this Justin Gondonari person who wrote about it in "The Periphery" is easily fooled by the bionic prosthesis. Regardless, this means the answer is yes, cat-girls are canonical in BattleTech.
Now the question is biological or only bionic?

One guy even cheekily snuck this little tidbit in:
Are all of you seriously forgetting the literal dog-boy featured in a depiction of a canopian pleasure circus in the mech warrior 3rd edition core rulebook? The one that came out in like 1999? How else do you think people keep sneaking their fursonas into battle tech. If a game master questions it, they just say "Oh, they're from Canopus IV"

Well, yeah. Canopus IV isn't a paradise of queer inclusivity. It's a cyberpunk dystopia. Everything can be bought, for a price. Including a whole new self. Or more likely someone who was forced into being something else. No matter how squeaky clean they try to make the government, you cannot have that sort of shit being done openly in a society without there being a lot of abuse, misuse and outright horror going on.

The Magetrix has the right to marry any man she wants, regardless of his objections. Make it so a king can marry any woman he wants and there is no way to opt out and feminists scream "rape culture" (and rightfully so). We're not talking about a political marriage arranged by noble families using their children to forge alliances or to gain power, but just a woman of power saying "I want him" and that's the end of the matter. Normies gloss over that as well.

Huh. So according to the /btg/ thread on 4chan, someone with a Youtube channel was backing the Kickstarter, mentioned something about CGL using Chinese slave labor to build those plastic minis, which they do, and so someone, either CGL or Kickstarter (but it sounds like it was KS) booted him from the Kickstarter.

Nice.

So what you guys are saying is... MoC needs a Crusade?
Nah. Just use them as the Inner Sphere's degeneracy containment zone. What happens in Canopus stays in fucking Canopus, and that includes the catgirls.

Besides, if you nuked the Magistracy off the star charts, the Inner Sphere's intelligence services would all collapse because they'd lose the source of 90% of their blackmail material.

That's just everything that you buy that's made in China. The price for cheap plastic is borderline slave labor.

Trying to suppress discussion on it is just daft, though.

Being vaguely familiar with BattleTech with a couple of MechWarrior games in my history, I was tempted for a moment by the kickstarter, but then realized how I don't really have time for it when I'm already backlogged on a couple of other hobbies I'm much more invested in. It seems as if pretty much all of the discount value of pledges is in the form of e-books that I can get from online libraries anyway. I also just recalled playing a demo game of BattleTech at a convention and how it felt like such a chore in bookkeeping.

I don't know that it's a chore to do the bookkeeping once you know what you're doing, but BattleTech and the add-ons (excepting ClickyTech and now Alpha Strike) are definitely products of a different age when it comes to gaming. It is interesting that what was once considered a quick "beer and pretzels" game is now glacially slow compared to current games. Gaming mechanics and theory has evolved since 1987, and for a variety of reasons BattleTech never did. Maybe it would have been better if every couple of years a truly new edition of the game came out, but that's not how it panned out, and when one developer mentioned doing just that a few years back, the fanbase revolted and ran him out of town on a rail.

If your interested in the novels I believe my Trove has all of them up to date. If you want the link I can send it to you.

[Edit] Also why do people keep painting the Trans flags on their mechs constantly. I mean i don't see Gay people painting pride flag on their mechs.

Because it's a fucking cult, and one they volunteered into. Gay guys can be obnoxious sometimes, but they didn't get to pick which flag they got lumped under. Trannies 100% volunteered for this shit, so they're the equivalent of Born-Again cultists. Everything in their lives must reflect their "new" selves after they start taking their communion hormones.

Remember, it's also known as Trannytech.

And if you think that's bad just you wait until some streaming studio gets the rights to a Battletech series. We are going to be posting about the Trooncracy of Canopus for a while.

On the other hand, on my current BEX Career, I was finally able to salvage and buy enough mech parts to field an Assault Lance, but fuck me, it is very expensive to drop it.

I believe that thread or one just like it was brought up, and I even posted snips from the books detailing that using the handy book and page references Reddit provided. This is IIRC the second debate about the MoC being degenerates, with the first one being far less obsessed with complaining about Current Year worship of degeneracy and more general shitposting and laughing about the MoC and/or Clan Sea Fox being degenerates and partners in degeneracy.

(I would still totally visit their Elemental-staffed maid café though.)

I was going to say we already had one, but then I remembered much like a hearty breakfast, for some things you just need a second one.
I really should get around to painting a King Crab up like the General Lee from the Dukes of Hazzard.

Either that or an old school Daishi with a pair of Elementals that look like Bo and Luke hanging off the side.
My man, a Fire Moth would be a far better choice for that sort of thing. Especially because those high-up arms were designed explicitly so Elementals could hang off them. Its 10/15/20 thanks to MASC, or for those of us who play vidya instead of TT that's 162/216 kph. That 162 kph base running speed is 100 mph, which is just about right for them Duke boys. Also, instead of the General Lee and its flag, have you considered the official flag of the Space Rednecks:

No, I don't know how a Fire Moth wound up there, save in tiny pieces. But if anyone could reassemble an entire working 'Mech from tiny pieces, its Space Rednecks.

And speaking of BT cartoons:

"You're damn right I'm refusing your batchall! Now what are you gonna do about it?" Its a shame that the timelines don't actually match between Malthus and Randolph P. Checkers, Esq, otherwise we could have the hilarity of Not-Tex representing Adam Steiner against Nicolai be BT canon.

I'm sure at some point Randolph P. Checkers has told a Clanner to fuck off with his batchall, though :)

I was going with the Daishi because of that big flat hood thing. It would be perfect for that rebel flag. I could use a Puma instead. I'm sure there's a variant with jump jets so they can get over those broken bridges.

But if I go with the Space Rednecks, I can have some of those Colonial Marshals in hot pursuit trying to bring those Duke Boys in...

Decisions, decisons...

The Fire Moth also has a pretty wide, flat top relative to it.

Well, its not flat flat but it could work.
I remember watching a few episodes of this cartoon when I was a kid.

I was feeling nostalgic and so I watched a couple of episodes on YouTube. You can tell why it was cancelled.
Yeah it uh... had issues. I'm surprised Nicolai wasn't suing over the poor production quality in addition to how it portrayed him.

Sure, why not?

Also, the reason why you see so many tranny-colored models is because it's easy farming for social media likes. It's why you see it on the front page of the main 40k subreddit at least once a month.
