Just channel your inner Mercer Ravannion there and start throwing them at those Davion assholes by the dozen.
I’ve thought about a company of just light mechs with a bunch of vehicles and battle armor where the goal is to use the mechs as crash dummies and line of sight obstacles. It wouldn’t be something like the urbanmechs, but just mechs like wasps, stingers and spiders.

I have no idea why devs seem to think that anyone playing stompy robot games wants them to simplify the fucking mechlabs
I'm pretty sure that unlike Mercs, Clans was optimized for console sales from the start. Hence the oversized clunky UI that should be more manageable on controllers.

(PS I have no idea why devs seem to think that anyone playing stompy robot games wants them to simplify the fucking mechlabs)
I remember the example they used to defend how they did MW5's mechlab and it was that without quirks or inflating hardpoints there are plenty variants of mechs that are just straight inferior hardpoint wise with the CN9-A vs CN9-AH being the example since why ever use the AH if you could put an AC/20 on an A, you could also say that whats the point of a CN9-D when you could slap endo/XL on a CN9-A too.

I think the hardpoint system they went with does kind of solve that problem but they really dropped the ball not having some way to do extensive customisation of mechs (beyond the stat upgrades) to really make them your own.

Solved it but then made everything else just stupid. Limiting weapon sizes killed it for certain mechs and honestly just made it feel worthless even trying to make any modding attempts or to go with different variants that you should be able to do but can't because of how limiting the Mechlabs in MW5 is. Since started playing on PC i've never used the vanilla mechlabs ever because it just fucking sucks.

prime clan mechs usually are just some kind of baseline unit. it's essentially an adder that jumps, but I've always liked that quality with maps and tables where there's a lot of short buildings. I love the metal version and don't want to pay $70 for a box set where I either already own the miniatures in metal like the timber wolf and pouncer, or I have no desire to use them like the wasp and masakari
The Masakari Prime may be the deadliest mech in the game, hands down. The TComp gives you not one but four chances for a called shot to the head... and you only need to get it right once.

It’s neutered in alpha strike, but you’re right about it in classic. Targeting computers were neutered in that game and the only things it has in alpha strike are case, indirect fire 0 and overheat long range. I don’t dislike the mech by any means, but I lump it in there with the kit fox and kodiak II as mechs I just don’t want to use that are fine.

Yeah, Yet Another Mechlab is pretty much mandatory IMO.

A few /btg/s ago an anon was asking about the over/under on IWM eventually being pushed out by CGL. I saw how they’ve changed the sizes of a few units when transitioned into CGL’s plastic. A few examples of this would be the behemoth tank, savannah master hovercraft and elemental armors. I wouldn’t care about tournament rulings, as the scene for AS, specifically AS350, is retarded and pushes you to have to use combined arms on top of era appropriate units (usually clan invasion to civil war). My main concern would be them pushing it into the general rules of the game where I’d have to be at the mercy of rule 0, which no one is obliged to honor.

Fellow /btg/ anon.

I had this great game the other night, so as everyone knows all fire takes place at the same time (just incase anyone who likes TT is reading and unaware) I had some crap build custom Centurion with a Rac2 get just CT murdered.
But as it was going down it was firing like a champ. Head shot cock pit kill. Whole table did the Friday "DAYYYYYYUMMMMM"

God damn do I love this game.

It's one of the best things about Battletech. The simultaneous nature of turns means yeah, you CAN have mutual kills that rob you of a clean victory (or indeed, any victory at all).

Last game I played I was playing against a lance of those metal capellan/liao mechs where they're all named something chinese and the guy decides he's going to just focus on my annihilator. Battletech's a game where players can do something like that where it's 4 vs 1 and the 1 loses eventually, but 2 mechs were demolished and 1 had lost its left leg and both arms.

Early on in a game, I once had a guy march his Awesome through the magical death acid known as depth 1 water, thus putting all hits on the punch table and I opened up on him at long range with a catapult that I spent a pretty penny on to get like a gunnery 1 or 2 pilot. I got enough cluster hits to go above the magical number of twelve and then I proceeded to roll three sixes in a row on the hit tables.

All of those fucking missiles went right into the cockpit and the look on my opponents face was the closest thing that I'll probably ever see to a man in the electric chair right before they throw the switch.

MW5 Mercs with more DLC coming out. https://mw5mercs.com/dlc/chaos-reign

Two new story quests, one dealing with a raid in in the periphery north of Clan held territory and the other dealing with Operation GUERRERO.

Brand New Mech the Sunder will now be available.

Besides the Sunder we are getting 9 new Chasis from other expansions into the game.
For Battlemechs we are getting the Vixen, Kodiak, Bushwhacker, Shadow Hawk IIC and Jenner IIC. Then for Omnimechs we are getting the Cauldron-Born, Night Gyr, Naga and Linebacker.

New variants will be available as well for existing mechs. We are getting Clanbuster variants, Artillery Variants as well as Clan Refits of Inner Sphere Mechs.

Also to go along with these features new weapons are going to be dropped as well.

Arrow IV, MRMs, X-Pulse Lasers, Light AC 2 and 5s, Clan Heavy Lasers and Clan Light Machine guns.

They are also updating the Vehicle roster and IS Standard Battlearmor to either fight with or against.

New mission type too, Guerilla Warfare, which seems to be a new version or replacement for Infiltration.

I'm confused as to what they mean by brand new vs whatnot. Sunder exists in lore, right? It was the first reverse engineered IS mech using Clan tech? https://www.sarna.net/wiki/Sunder

Were the others in MW5C or MWO already, and that's why they're not Brand New? Or are the others just new variants of stuff we already have?

The Sunder hasn't seen a release in any of the other games so that is what I meant by new while the other 9 Chasis that I posted have seen releases in other games but not in MW5 Mercs.

And the first IS omnimech belongs to the Raptor.

Getting an actually new mech that isn't first released for MWO is pretty big, sales must be good enough for them to put working on MW5 first before MWO worth it. Or its the other way around and MWO's death is imminent.

Game averages about 5k players a day between all of its ports and sees daily bumps whenever an expansion pops out. When Shadows came out it jumped to about 12k
-18k.
