Hell, ninety percent of casual BT matches will have at least one proxy. It's not usually an issue since every mech adheres to the same rules anyways.
Yeah, it shouldn’t ever be an issue because you can play the game on a piece of paper. I think unless you’re playing with some WAAC fag you’ll be fine. I proxied my uziel for a pouncer for the greater part of a year before getting an IWM one. I just find it funny because you can play classic with the cardboard cutouts.

ok this time i got an idea for a battle tech movie
The movie is about a guy securing all the copyrights necessary to make a Battletech movie. but the only mech copyright he could get is the xanthos.

the sequel will be about arbitration and appeals

I like the CGI models for Focht and Victor. And how Mason is sharply skeptical of both of them. It's nice to see some friction.

I've been playing through the new DLC (about halfway through) and its definitely one of the better ones, the balance feels just about right with heavy enough enemies to be challenging but not too many repair bays that you're able to breeze through without ever getting crit. I like the little story things too like you fighting alongside the Crater Cobras again and the new commander calling you a fossil for knowing the previous one from the 4th SuccWar.

I haven't finished it but what gets Mason to sign on with the SLDF is Victor promising to rebuild his home on DeBerry in FedSun space, I think this is going to be the setup for why he gets involved when it comes to the inevitable Civil War DLC and if I'm right its nice that they're trying to make the characters actually engage with the conflicts instead of always being mercs along with the ride.

I know the game is miniature agnostic, but what’s the general consensus on using unique battlemechs? I see a lot of people love those legendary mechwarrior boxes and there’s a lot of IWM sets like the wolf’s dragoons lance with the 4 unique mechs and a medallion. I would love to field that dire wolf but I also don’t want to be seen as a WAAC fag.

At least in my community as long as the model is what it's supposed to be we're fine with it. I've used the Legendary MechWarriors Atlas as a basic early succession wars one as an example.

Oh, like using the unique mech from the box as a standard variant? I have not seen a single person care at the casual games I've been at. Maybe tournaments care, but Battletech tournaments do not interest me in the slightest.

I like Natasha Kerensky and the black widow company a lot so I have all of the mechs they’ve used and would love to field them whenever I can.

I don’t care for tournaments, especially when you’re still allowed to use the entire catalog of units and can just use dumb shit like battle armors and infantry units to cheese the game. I was thinking more about named mechs like the Zeus X Stacy, Griffin Francine or Timberwolf Pryde. They’re tied to lore and characters, but sometimes they have something better than the base variant.

Yeah in casual games as long as you can find a variant that fits the settings your in for the mech most people won't give two shits.

I had a friend field the Bounty Hunters Mad Cat as a normal one

I’m a big fan of the sheets being the main focus, especially since so many cool jihad and dark age mechs are still locked behind the metal tax. I’d love a mastodon or an inferno, but they’re both like $25+ and made with heavy metal parts so you’d have to pinvice them.

a bit on conversion can go quite a ways. Most boxes give you a couple mechs that your probably not gonna use you can use it for parts here's a few mechs i made with the parts of a savage wolf

the bane at the end is a mech i painted for my little brother, and in happy how it came out and wanted to show it.
