Clan Ghost Bear vs Comstar

11101.jpg.webp

My teams Comstar 13k force

The game ended with us winning. They got fucked by their deployment rules and couldn't bring in their big omnimechs until Turn 7. Because of time, the game ended on turn 5. Comstar had 10 mechs on the field, mind you, while Ghost Bear had 5, with two mechs, a Summoner and Kodiak, waiting to come on the board on Turn 7.

Deployment rules were basically that 50 percent of their force could come on the far edge of the table, and then on a turn that they rolled for their remaining mechs would walk on the long edge of the board, which would essentially let them walk onto the board from anywhere.

I'm starting to think the Marauder is fucking cursed for me; this is the second game I've played where my mech got its cockpit annihilated.

There’s this reddit fаggоt who’s been trying to convince to start having a competitive alpha strike scene and showing everyone his lists and it’s just the most unfun looking sweaty win at all costs shit. I looked into it and it’s basically AS350 but with even more rules that you’d see in 40K tournaments like having to play combined arms and having a banlist.

Why Alpha Strike? that's the system i use when i want a casual pick up game. it just sounds like this guys to retarded to play classic and wants everyone at his level

on another note alpha strike is objectively better on a hex map

Because you have enough of a redux in the game that you can add more units like battleforce while the scale is the same as classic. Reddit loves it because there’s an ability to have a metagame they can get together online and discuss. There’s also apparently a banlist that includes things like clixtech mechs rebased on hex bases and mechs like the bull shark because CGL doesn’t have an official release.

The lists that wind up winning are full of units you’d have to dig into the MUL in order to find that are only available through IWM which already crosses into multiple territories I don’t want to get into. Same reason I don’t want to use things like riot cops or foot platoons.

I was just janking your chain, buddy. You know, most "women" that played Battletech started as men. I'm still not convinced you are not drinking Liquid Death, though.
I can't stand liquid death. I don't get how she can, and you're good, just one of those things my dad ingrained into me. Someone insults your woman and it raises your hackles a bit.

Especially since she's done so much to help me in my life, yada yada life story no one cares about.

Moral of the story is, her Hatchetman managed to get behind my Black Knight and bonk him on the head, she was incredibly happy about this. Annihilated his cock pit.

I personally feel c3 tax is to expensive, not even sure if it's my personal feeling or it needs to be recosted.

Minis look great. Nice your Mrs will play, mine has stood in a few times for game night as a human dice box, gave her a bunch of LRM carriers and parked em in the woods. She just doesn't care to learn.

Enjoying new DLC got my blackjack omni fucking right.

I've seen games where C3 does absolutely nothing because ECM and I've seen games where it just blew up the opposing team.

Really depends on the units and the person playing it.

Do you guys have advice for playing c3 lances? I know smute and avoid all ecm. I also laid it out so my malice and jackalope would spot for my templar and catapult
