because of recent events, does infamy keep lolcows like wings, dsp and low tier god relevant? - would wings, low tier god and dsp be more succesful without trolls or would they have faded into obscurity years ago without trolls?

some people think you need to be famous to make money off of it, but lots of people grift off of infamy. one person in that sphere includes Keemstar. he grifts from drama, says controversial things and has a lot of haters, yet he's relevent and got rich off of it. also the paul brothers, and people like Uwe Boll
would phil have had to get a job by now or move back in with his parents if not for trolls? what about wings, low tier god actually has a real job. heck phil and wings gets donations from trolls which is income he wouldn't get otherwise. imagine being so cucked you pay someone you're supposed to hate or dislike.

but does their infamy and trollspehere keep them relevant. there are some people who donate to phil just to spite the trolls, which is also money he wouldn't make otherwise. what exact;y keeps phil and wings making money when lots of big youtubers and streamers who were way bigger just fell off the map. it has to be the trolls right?

in fact, if you looked at their rise and falls ant the statistics of the views they get, they were super close to almost having that happen. especially with wings, actual russian state media called out the west for the death of Bernie Gores. these guys are super boring otherwise and shouldn't logically be able to hold an audience. even wings PKA hosts who were pseudo celebs at one point have a hard time getting his numbers on videos and streams. Kyle was on a commerical for black ops 2 with robert downie jr, and woody hosted conventions for minecraft. the famous "deditated wam" clip has him in it.

I am of the belief from things that I know, that people trolling them is what keeps them on the map and from fading into obscurity but I could be wrong, and am wiling to listen to compelling arguments against it.

disclaimer I am not justifying them getting swatted or having their bank records leaked with identity fraud or people sending prostitutes to their house. im just talking about regular detractors like the people who make this is how you don't plays or commentate on their hot takes or clip them out of context. if you do the former, you're an asshole and should go to a loony bin because your head ain't screwed right.

Wings, LTG and DSP don't put out content anyone can legitimately enjoy keeping them irrelevant and relatively poor. Keem and Pauls are able to churn out viral content one after another allowing them to have big audiences, where more people are fans than haters. Once you are big enough name, you can get rich by selling mech and getting big sponsorships. Tech platforms promote money making content, which further feeds into popular people becoming even bigger.

If you think anybody knows who any of these people are off the Farms you need to log off.

Hell, I've been on the Farms since 2011 and I still don't know who the fuck any of these people are.

wings is actually decently well known.
he's low key famous.
phil gets talked about by big youtubers and those videos gets hundreds of thousands to million of views sometimes.
low tier god has the "kill yourself now" meme.

i was more asking where would they be without the detractors?

Infamy keeps me from declaring wars, this is why I will never play vanilla

The only people mentioned here I know are DSP and Keem and that's only because other channels talk about them, and it's never anything positive but always something troll worthy. If you can't put out consistent quality content then drama and trolls are a legit source of income now, at the detriment of everyone involved including the viewer lol. Brittany Venti's early days was her actually fishing for trolls to get them to pay money for trolling her, kinda ahead of her time, she's since moved on to the more reliable source on income that is thottery and simpbux.

Yes, there's actually a huge relevancy in hatewatching and a large mechanism for monetization, beneath the skirts of more friendly advertisers. But we've known this for a while, we've know this for so long, and this has become such a basic fact of life that it such be categorized to the "no shit" zone. Like when we found out corporations were using sex to sell things, by the late 90s that should be a "yes and?" statement. This being said, the people who don't understand that everyone knows this, and still think they're actually creating something new, that normies can't understand, are absolute fucking retards. The mechanism of hate exists regardless of any of your one-off comments. I would assume the steady realization of this impotence, mixed with a steady stream of soldiers who get off on their own interactions with the hatecow, creates a focal point that smarter manipulators can use to channel the impotent rage of those below them to finally exercise that scrap of control they always wanted over the situation. Thusly, they make up lies and rumors, conduct swattings, and prank call their relatives. This is just as pathetic as any other hatewatcher who can't just lolcalmdown, but it has evolved, at that point, to something less impotent.

Yes it definitely keeps them relevant and allows their "streaming career" to survive. The only time Wings is entertaining is when he's saying wild shit, having some kind of breakdown, or otherwise involved in drama. His gameplay and "streams" if you took that away, is boring as shit and would quickly die due to lack of interest. The trolling and sort of internet mythology around him not only draws in huge amounts of people who would never know or care who he is otherwise, it also causes whales to give him big donos to "own the trolls" and such.

Now one thing that is sort of an exception to this, is when the "trolling" went so far that he was actually being driven off of Youtube and other platforms by false strikes and bans. Obviously it doesn't matter anymore how infamous he is if he just doesn't have a platform where people can give him money. But short of that really taking effect, the trolling has 100% kept his "career" alive, when otherwise he would have faded into irrelevancy like a decade ago probably.

Yes, when you make videos where you BTFO some famous person with your superior facts and logic, you make them millionaires. Who is truly the one being owned here?
