Ben Shapiro is a self-hating Jew

Jews love money and religion, both of those things are favored by conservatives. Shapiro isn't a wealthy enough person to be able to be safe in a communist regime so he has to vote conservative.

Also taxes are theft.

Jews have reacted differently to diasporic life. I think I can categorize their reactions in modern times to three groups:
  • nationalism: Came along in the mid 19th century. Along with secularization plenty of Jews' pennies dropped and figured out they should have a place of their own. See folks like Herzl. Most of them have peaced out to israel in the past ~100 years.
  • Conservatism / orthodoxy: These Jews clung on to their community, traditions and religion like lifeboats for thousands of years, so they aren't going to change now. They also started "raising the walls" of their metaphorical ghetto after being emancipated around the 19th century. See Brooklyn / NY landlords, or Shapiro to a lesser extent
  • Internationalists / cosmopolitans: Jews who due to emancipation and secularization lost their identity and like lost children are trying to find a replacement for it on one hand, and to tear down other identities (sounds familiar?) on the other. See everything from Marx to the entire progressive movement for examples.
There can be some overlap between the conservative and the nationalist type, like Shapiro.
They all inherited a tendency to in group preference and protectionism. Seems to me like the least so are the nationalists as they don't feel the pressure of being a minority.
There's also some historical precedent of Jews maintaining tribal political affiliation with whichever political side emancipated them first in the country where it did.
In summary, I'd say Shapiro is a pretty typical Jew, type 2 subtype 1.

Shapiro is a Israel first Zionist, he is socially conservative but financially corporatist. He doesn't care about Americas future demographic stability nor about the future of the republican party, because he supports not doing anything effective to illegal immigration and increasing work based immigration. Shapiro thinks that Israel needs a wall to keep away Palestinians because they're violent, but can't recognize the fact that Mexicans are way more violent. Shapiro in fact advocates for the expulsion of the Palestinians, while recognizing that Jewish expulsion form Germany led to the holocaust, and we all know that Germans are way better engineers than Jews.

The gelflings need to dreamfast more to see the eternal skeksis for what they truly are.
