Best email provider for general use

Does anyone have recommendations for email providers for personal use?
I'm looking to migrate my main account from google to someplace with reasonable privacy and security.
I don't really need fancy stuff, Imap/Pop3 access and a sensible amount of space.
An yes, I'm aware of lolcow email (and I use it for this account), but that's not really something you can use as your main account

i use Mail.com, they have a Chrome extension and an app which is useful because I am unmotivated to actually check my email unless bugged to do so by my phone and browser.

I've used mail dot com for my real and bullshit emails on and off over the years with no particular complaints.

Protonmail.com if you need something with a bit higher privacy.
