As a bongland resident, I will rate my top 5 states solely by their culinary impact on my life

5: Hawaii: Hawaiian rolls are quite nice with borgars, and mirin glazed spam sushi is terminally underrated as a comfort food
4: Illinois: Chicago has the absolute best pizza on the planet thus it earns a spot on the list.
3: Texas: Most the barbeque recepes I have ever enjoyed have been texan, and tex-mex is probably the variant of mexican food I dislike the least
2: New York: While I prefer the chicago style pizza, new york's is a somewhat close second and the existance of New York Cheesecake, the New York style Hotdog, and a whole bunch other things from the reuben sandwich to refined kike kuisine bump this up to an overall no.2 spot
1: Louisiana: Jambalaya is still in my opinion the best food on the face of the planet, and the presence of other cajun/creole staples from gumbo to etouffee to dirty ricer make this a clear and easy pick for best food state in my experience

Idk about the best, but California should be the worst on everyone's list
top 5 states: Alaska, Florida, Montana, Nevada, Texas
worst 5 states: California, New York, New Jersey and whichever states Chicago and Detroit are in
worst: california, no contest

best: probably something very remote and rural. montana maybe?
Never really understood the hate for California. Sure, it's expensive, and perhaps culturally out of touch with the rest of the US, but if you've got the money, it's easily one of the best places to live in the world.

I've got family in both California and the Deep South, and it's no contest for me in terms of which is better.

Top 5 best: Montana, Florida, Maine, Nevada, Texas

Top 5 worst: California, Washington, Oregon, New York, Massachusetts
