I GUESS YOU COULD SAY THIS CAME OUT OF THE BLUE!

Anyways it's in the same vein as Endless Ocean or Everblue. However the diving controls and scanning controls are apparently very well done and are not hindered by anything. You dive in water for science and live aboard a mini-sub that looks like an underwater RV Camper. You scan animals and explore every single type of environment that the ocean has to offer. It's a tie-in game to Blue Planet so it's going to be part edutainment, but there's something like 100+ species to scan or something. There's supposedly like an hour or so of educational videos you can watch in game about different stuff.

The only downside I can see from this is that it's digital only. It's available tomorrow June 11th.

I hope there's some crazy Atlantis shit in this game like the original in Endless Ocean.
I don't think there is, this seems to be all relatively normal environments because they want to go for real life accuracy.

I think the only slightly weird shit that will be rearing it's head is stuff like Wholpins and other Hybrids like Narwhal Belugas.

Oh wow, I remember the Everblue games, this is actually pretty cool, thanks Big Black Cocks.

Yeah, there should be a mode with crazy stuff like that.

It didn't quite come out of nowhere, even though it seems like it did.

It was announced in 2018, aimed for a Feb 2020 release, and came out through Apple Arcade on April 17, which is also when it appeared on Steam for preorder, where it received a couple of quick patches, one of which fixed a save bug.
